Sold Down the River

Greg Taylor £900k

anyone else hearing this is a goer

Heard it a couple of days ago Kelly but don't know if there is anything in it, bit underwhelmed if there is! Nothing against the boy I'm sure he's decent enough domestically but with Boli still finding his feet it would worry me if he was the only alternative heading into the CL groups (hopefully).

I think both Killie full backs are decent and well within our price range. The annoying thing is that if we do go and now buy one or both of them then why didn't we do this in June so they were available gor the Champions Lesgue qualifiers.

I appreciate KT was finally sold just a few days ago but he wasn't going to be available to us until late autumn at the very earliest and it was obvious there was a high chance he would be leaving anyway either in this window or the next.

We could have done with solid dependable FBs for the start of the season, and had the money to afford them even if they are likely to be back-ups. Many of us spoke about buying them in late May/early June.

Maybe they are coming in as cover for the long term 9 and 10.

Well I'll be expecting a bit of criticism following this post so you can take some solace in the fact you'll not be the only one having to take cover mate  So here goes......

There is NO excuse whatsoever for not strengthening further whether players go out or not and if Lenny is being told to sell before he can buy then that's a major worry! The money is there to strengthen but more importantly the NEED is there and if Lawell and the board fail to do so then it's negligent in the extreme, especially when the resources are there!

When we're playing a CB at RB, a CM at CB and have no adequate cover/replacement for a guy still trying to find his feet at LB then further signings are not a luxury they're a necessity. Lenny also sees the need for another striker and I would say there is a need for another CM enforcer type for away ties in Europe, where we may have to double up on that front to combat better quality teams who will put us under the cosh, so to make further signings dependent on others leaving would be folly and an act of self-harm.

We're going to be stretched this season one way or another with the amount of games we'll play and the inevitable injuries we'll rack up so if we're not careful we may end up having to rely on a patched up team with players playing out of position fighting on multiple fronts and if that happens we're leaving ourselves wide open when there is absolutely no need for it.

The money is there, the need is there, the question is......Is the will there?

Nothing in this that anyone other than PL would criticise, Andy fair balanced as well as spotfuckingon. The Dembele money and now the KT money get it spent on what NFL has said he needs. And what every blind Celtic supporter can see we need LB + RB + CB.
M/field playmaker /enforcer.
Champions League Qualification should have been helped get the players in now.
And the money from the group stages will help PL get his bonus. And bury the bastards across the city. Oh and pay the wages of the new players. ( it will TET won’t it).
So great post as usual Andy.

HH ???
