I note with interest that Free Agent Efe Ambrose has put Premiership Clubs on notice that he would be amenible to a return to Scottish foorball

God forbid he makes a return to Parkhead unless as an opponent

Hard to believe he played in the team that defeated Barca 2-1 nearly 7 years ago but I think that was a freak of nature rather than an inspired inclusion by Lenny that night

Nothing personal against the big fella but watching him play wasn't for the weak hearted The words scare fuckin' and bomb immediately spring to mind but not necessarily in that order

I dont think he is good enough to play for Celtic.

But he is a very strong athletic and decent professional. Makes silly errors too often, but I think he more than good enough to play in Scotland.

Can score goals as well. His love of playing for Celtic is often overlooked. Despite the exaggerated criticisms of his errors, he was always full of joy and pleasant character who I think was often played out of position and over exposed.

All our defenders get hard time, but the system we need to play makes a defender who gets nervous even more exposed to howlers when we make bad mistake in midfield or face an organised counter threat.

Its a tough gig to be a Celtic defender.

Efe, for me tried his best and never stopped trying. I think he would be better as defensive full back in a system with counter as main game plan.

I think most spell teams would love to have his experience and character at their club.

We are easy to remember defender howlers and fail to remember the many many more times they did very very well.

I like Efe but he had too many lax moments in our exposed system. its interesting you thought he played well against Barca. that night we were on counter duty with packed defence.

I didn't say he played well against Barca I said it was a freak of nature that we beat them with him in the team

His sommersaukting antics when scoring goals were amusing but in no way made up for the mistakes and defeats that he cost us

win as a team lose as a team.

He made howlers and is not Celtic grade but I think he was played out of position mostly when he screwed up.

Our system also over exposed him. But he didn't ever look comfortable as CB but still he got selected often which suggests the manager rated him.

he had 169 games at Celtic with 12 in Champions league

Not sure but his stats dont seem that bad.

Just when he made arse of it, we remember it more.

Became a scape goat for poor performances at times but he was prone to the odd serious blunder.
Still a very experienced player who wore shirt with pride.

169 games is lot of matches

Seriously underrated defender and I'd take him back in a shot.

Amazing how acclimatised you can become to Scottish defenders in an International break!
