January Rumours - Merged

as usual the huns pull a late deal out of their arse from nowhere while we dither and end up with bog all its not the fact that they have got a great player in kamberi because obviously the have not but its the frustration of the fact that we are the worlds leading club for being unable to close deals and leaving everything too late

I get what you're saying mate, and we'll have to wait until the end of the season to see if our 2 unknown signings will make enough difference when the medals are handed out in May.
Compare that to the unknown (to me) Hagi, and the inconsistent Kamberi, I'd wager a pound to a penny that we'll come out on top, I just wish our board would take advantage of their weakness as we are only one really strong window from doing irreparable damage to the tribute act. 👍🍀

All as they have done is a Panini sticker swap, a guy who was out favour at Hibs for a guy who was out of favour for Sevco. Which tells you both were not rated.

Although I think we needed a couple of solid experienced pros in the door to send out a message that we meant business with the 9 I never expected much from this transfer window anyway. We've not made a significant signing in January for over a decade so to expect Lawell/Board to suddenly have a Damascene conversion this time round was just setting ourselves up for a major disappointment.

Given Lawell/Board's history it would've just been a repeat of last years January window anyway (Oli Burke, Marian Shved, Vakoun Bayo, Andrew Gutman, Manny Perez, Timo Weah, Jeremy Toljan) and signings like that would've just been another fucking pointless Board exercise in 'let's look like we're strengthening for the run in' when in actual fact all they were doing was the bare minimum they could get away with and adding to our seemingly endless list of 'ones for the future'. Not one of last January's signings, those that actually played, had any real impact on the outcome of the league and were never really likely to have so why clog up the squad with anymore more of that.

Like every other player we'll need to give Soro and Klimala time to show what they can do and they may turn out to be inspired signings but if they don't make an immediate impact don't be surprised or start slaughtering them for it as that's the chance you take with signing young guys with limited experience. Like I said would've preferred to see some experienced pros coming in, loan or otherwise, but we now have to go with what we have and hope it's enough.
