At my age I recognise stupidity rather easily.
I attended the Lisbon cup final as a 16 year old with my father. For 42 years I have been a season ticket holder at Celtic Park. I attend just as many away games.
So don’t something fishy about about me. I will be attending the St Johnstone cup game on Sunday, will you be. Willing to meet you at their main door if you wish, that’s if you are going??
The only way Celtic are measured is by their European Performances and its plain for all to see how poor these performances are.

What Celtic achieved in Lisbon was a minor miracle, but in a world where the bigheads don't bat an eyelid at spending close to billions on their squads, then Celtic have no means to be sitting dining from the same table as them. We've been off the pace in Europe recently and whilst we should have dealt with Copenhagen a damned sight better than we did, Celtic's benchmark can not be dictated by success in Europe as things currently stand.
You talk about true fans. Are true fans only the ones that comply with your point of view? If so, then I can live without your/their approval if constant negativity is their raison d'etre. I envy the fans who witnessed Celtic during their European pomp, but those days are long gone. There are only potentially 8 teams who can realistically win the Champions League on a regular basis. Every decade or so, a Porto will upset the norm, but even they have a budget that outpaces our own.
No club will ever repeat what Celtic and Steaua did with a team of home-grown players. The only way Celtic can realistically compete in Europe is if a multi-billionaire pops up and decides to buy a who's who of footballing mercenaries.
I'd rather we kept our core Scottish/Irish than become a fan-boys wet dream of superstars and money-oriented mercs. You may easily recognise that as stupidity - I'd prefer to describe it as being pragmatic and realistic.

To be fair to you, i also think outside Scotland is where everyone else measures us.

It does all come down to money and whilst other leagues have it, we don’t.

I genuinely want the 10IAR but after that we should be aiming for non humiliation in europe.
The worst is we did it to ourselves its not like the PSG game where lets face it they have players that cost astronomical amounts.
We are better than what we produced against CPH yet we never learned and got caught out by the very same tactics within a week. Thats the real blow but we got to move on and can’t dwell on it for if we do it could well impact what we have to do domestically over this n next season.

you're right. I wont be there. Last time I was there was taking my girl on the tour last year. Hard to get to games all the way from Surrey. But you enjoy the match clay.
