My girlfriend's cousin is a veterinarian in Canada.

She is being inundated with people bringing perfectly healthy animals into her practice to be euthanised!!!

The fear that Covid-19 can be transferred via third party contact with a cat or dog is leading folk to take their furry family members out of the equation.

They don't even want the option to find a foster or an adoption home! If they can't have/don't want the pet - then no one can have the pet.

If blood boiling is a symptom of this virus, then I must be infected, because I'm raging at this.

Humanity doesn't deserve these animals loyalty or love.

Ffs makes my blood boil, last week we lost our much loved Gracie a beautiful staffie, she had a good innings at 14 but sadly was struggling at the end, we are all devastated in this house although well aware of others troubles, it was an almighty blow for us, due to this bastard virus we couldn't even be with her at the end. To hear of people putting healthy pets down makes me so bloody angry.

We have always adopted a dog from the dogs trust or RSPCA etc but again due this bastard virus no one is allowed in to adopted and rightly so, but it still leaves us a canine free home for the foreseeable future πŸ˜”.

We never had pets growing up, 50. My ex-wife had two wee boys who wanted a dog and my sister-in-law's alsation had a litter and I got the wee runt of the litter.

The wee laddie's didn't have the patience or inclination to put in the hard yards and it's a lot of responsibility for young ones. That wee lassie quickly became my dog and she stood by my side through thick and thin for nigh on 15-years. A truly beautiful soul who asked for nothing, but gave me her everything.

I was bereft when she had to leave and to be perfectly honest, I still haven't quite got over it.

One day this daft wee cat pops up and then keeps popping up. I had no time for cats, but this wee fella was persistant. I think my Red sent him by my way just as a wee reminder. He's not a very cat-like cat, but I love the wee daftie and he knows it.

I might not have been blessed with children, but I was more than blessed with my furry friends.

That's another thing that breaks my heart, 50. Staffies are another breed that get a bum rap in the UK, yet they are playful, loyal, loving and protective.

It's the idiots again that want to be the big shots that have led to these beautiful creatures being persecuted. You know the saying: "no such thing as a bad dog..........."

Condolences on your family's loss, 50. Gracie will never be forgotten and I'm sure that she taught your younger folk the value of pure love.

RIP good lassie.

Feel for you buddy😒

My life would not be the same without my cats past and present.πŸ’œπŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜»
Unique wee personalities, POD. Once they get to trust you, then you see the character just oozing out of them.

I don't have a history with cats, but this misconception that they're detached and remote, I just don't see that to be true. Wee Naka knows when I'm needing cheering up and he tolerates me accordingly.

We’ve had 4 cats first one was Corrie he was mine from the first time he dug his claws in to me loved the wee man he’d sleep like a hat on my head. Was mental I cried like a bairn when we lost him. all the others we rescued from Rescue centres or from tossers who ditched them.
to the present maniac Jasper always puts a smile πŸ˜ƒ on my face he’s my family and I know my wife and Kids would sacrifice me for the furball as I would them πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸˆπŸˆπŸˆ

Staffies being a bad breed is another urban myth akin to Sevco and rangers being the same team.

We had Gracie as a rescue dog and never knew her history, from day one she idolised my son who would have been about 6 when we got her, he begged us for a yr or so to allow her to sleep in the same room, I refused until one early morning before going to work I looked in on him and there was Gracie at the foot of his bed, when I chinned him later about it he never knew she had been in, same the next day, that night we moved her bedding into his room and there she slept for the next 11 yrs.

God bless and look after you Gracie..
