Summer Transfer Window Thread Now Open...

It would be madness in the present climate to be buying ANY player. That is why we have a squad. Its a time to sit tight and if any issues arise with celtic, we would need to keep it going in some form. Hopefully football can return at some point in the future but not in the coming months. As for PPV or closed doors so everybody, coaching staff, cameramen, players, refs, etc etc etc would all need to be tested each day as they all go home each day. One tests positive and everybody needs to isolate for a fortnight. We cant even get NHS tested at the moment, despite the tories obsfucations and lies

Football isn't being played but the mechanics of it are continuing. To say we don't look at improving the squad, even in the midst of this would be wrong. We are going for 10 and we know we need to ensure we do that. Just to sit about and wait would only work if everybody did the same. That wouldn't happen, so we need to plan for coming out of this stronger. Keeping Eddy for another year is my main concern but we need to look to bring players in. Standing looking at our shoes as players are available isn't good business or what is required to ensure our dominance. Nobody ever expects us to spend big even without a pandemic because we never have and never will. We do need to continue progressing though. We need to off load a few and for me getting rid of Boli and bringing in another LB is vital as Taylor is still off the pace we need. A centre half is also vital for me and we can't wait until everything is back to normal. We need to act decisively to ensure 10 in the next couple of months.

Football economics are not what they were 6 weeks ago. World economics are changed. Whenever football returns will we have to have an empty seat on either side? Some clubs will go into liquidation and supply will exceed demand. Prices will fall. Basic economic theory.

Bit of Griff about him in his early days heard last summer it was the championship he was leaning towards ,is a good old fashioned penalty box striker and one who will get goals .
Understand he didn't make an impact at Aberdeen but sometimes it's how the manager plays the player and how he see's his progress it doesn't always fit

If sevco had any money and some sense they would go after him and dykes instead of defoe n morethanuseless

Meling and the other french full back we lost out on wold have been a great fit , doubt it must be down to playing plastic pitches
Dykes and Shankland might give them some post lockdown options. Cheap as well. There's a chance both those lads will get decent game time there. Dykes no Shankland as a wee cheap super sub? I don't see risk in that. Will he force himself into a 1st pick? Jury is out but we have a good idea. If he gets offered a wage he likes he will fancy it. Added to that the next club has to be a big one. Throw the dice.
I'd rather buy him out of spite. Terrible attitude I know. I have a feeling he will score goals in a better team. Huns included.
Never knew he was injured recently ,read a while back he was struggling to break into the Norwich team and his fitness level wasnt were it should be.If we could get him for 3 million its a no brainer ,just my opinion.
Paddy signed his extension to let man city have a chance at dough. If everyone is taking the same step downs in market value we will toe a certain line as well.
Paddy has an injury record now. I'm keeping this in mind in a head over hear
Southampton post £41m losses with £115m spent on wages, why Celtic can sign Fraser Forster..

Again even with the slump FF will have caught some attention. I hope he digs in his heels and we step up.

I completely respect all aspects of this debate. Economic and the need to advance.

The knock on isn't yet quantified...not for football fully. It's the spectator, tv ,merch, player value that's up in the air. We don't have consistent big tv money really so we are in limbo.
Bloggers have assured we had adequate insurance...All smoke an mirrors. Who knows for sure and the level of pay out we will have.
I doubt that many companies would have been paying whatever doomsday premium insurance that would completely cover this pandemic.
This is where operating cost for me become a concern and the weight of it.
Cash stash, squad, other assets, Des and insurance should as a combined force see us through. I do however expect the board to be tentative. The biscuit tin? It may be a biscuit vault. At least we have biscuits

Had a wee laugh at this
I'm sure the Buffaloon will move on to bigger and better things. My money is on Bradford.
He will be a solid 18st by the time play resumes. The only bigger thing he will be moving to is a larger kit size. Skinned and boned buffalo may be considered a luxury meat in the near distant lb for £..wonderfully marbled

Good tae have ye back Bobo ☘

Not been on for ages.
Last time I was on I said to fisani I'd ask about for places for his lecture...nightmare. lot of book here and there stuff nothing decent. Got side tracked with life and drifted. Good to see I need to add Stella to my list of soap/water and injecting detol as covid preventatives. 🤣🍻
Think the good doctor is far too busy with his cure sport idea 👍

I'm giving a medical lecture online Saturday night your time and people are tuning in from Chicago at 5pm , Sydney at 8am and 10am NZ. Distance is no longer a barrier.

Last summer I thought that Meling would have been a good signing. Would he still be a decent signing considering that we need to solve the LB problem. Greg Taylor has been decent and if we can get rid of Mbombo then 2 'decent' left backs might suffice imo.

some players take longer to settle ,Taylor will still be trying to settle as the covid lockdown has buggered they plans up

Mbemba is in hiding he must be a state aid opus dei as i cant find trace of him , if you mean bolingoli ,he will be the same as Taylor
once training resumes i feel they'll be more settled to the Celtic way

problems ahead could be we could be half way through next season and covid hit's the squad or even some of it

what would the league do ,as there's no vaccine ,,not yet
