League Reconstruction & the Rangers Resolution stuff - All Merged

They can demand as much as they want, but reality is they will get very little money. The economy is in dire straits, the NHS will need extra funding and there will be tens or hundreds of thousands of people out of work (so higher taxes for those fortunate to retain their employment).

We are all football obsessed on here but does anyone really think that much money should/will be pumped into football when there will be so many people suffering real poverty and possibly losing their homes, struggling to pay bills/buy food, etc, etc? That just will not happen, I'm afraid.

It will be tough times ahead for us all but subsidising rich footballers will not be a priority of any government.

I renewed my season ticket on Friday and it all seemed to go through OK - payment was taken from my bank, got the confirmation email.

I've then got a cancellation email this afternoon cancelling the season ticket and it's showing as cancelled in my Rangers account. I've emailed the ticket office but just checking incase anyone else has had similar and has an idea why? The only thing I can think is that it was down to renew automatically on the 4 month payment plan but I paid it in a oner on Friday as I had the money.

Spot on BB. We all love the game but there are and will be many others down the line who'll be in far more need of financial help from the Scottish government and their resources are not infinite. The SFA 'demanding' government bailouts is crass beyond belief and speaks volumes on the arrogant sense of entitlement that permeates through certain quarters of Scottish football.

Good points BB, personally I don’t think football should get a bailout, would be mightily disappointed if the government did so ,bearing in mind the reasons you have highlighted ,at this moment Football means f all !!!!!!! , for years football authorities here have fucked everything up ,the leadership is non existent,if they can’t survive tough ,sounds hard ,but, there is a choice to be made here, hh

I know we all love the ‘game’ But we also should understand that football is also a multi-million pound business, who have paid Billions of pounds in taxes over the year's into the country, Now that they are in trouble because of Covid19, why shouldn’t they get any help ?? Airlines, supermarkets, and other Company’s are getting help.

Why would supermarkets need help when their profits have superceded those of any good Xmas???

I’ll be honest with you here, after I said Airlines I couldn’t remember the name of the company I was about to write down so threw supermarkets in (think the chairman’s name is Green) but McDonald’s are asking for help with there rents. Was really hoping that nobody would pull me up about supermarkets and get the point I was trying to make

SFA to demand bailout for Scottish Football as Celtic title decision draws nearer

.................................................

I would be happy for the government to help Scottish Football get through this difficult time.....if in return the government insist on there being strict transparency and accountability on the SFA's part...

ie. no more unnecessary travel junkets and free boozy dinners for the blazers and their wives.....along with an annual forensic audit of all their financial dealings.....I'd be happy with that
