They can demand as much as they want, but reality is they will get very little money. The economy is in dire straits, the NHS will need extra funding and there will be tens or hundreds of thousands of people out of work (so higher taxes for those fortunate to retain their employment).
We are all football obsessed on here but does anyone really think that much money should/will be pumped into football when there will be so many people suffering real poverty and possibly losing their homes, struggling to pay bills/buy food, etc, etc? That just will not happen, I'm afraid.
It will be tough times ahead for us all but subsidising rich footballers will not be a priority of any government.
