Celtic v Ferencvaros - Champions League 2nd Qualifier, Wednesday 26 August 7.45pm - all comments here

Well said Niall. Much better than I've managed to get across. Lenny's old pals act where he is sticking by his favourites will only lead to cliques and divisions in the dressing room. How must Klimala feel tonight? What message does it send out to him and other fringe players?

And if they weren't match fit - why the hell not give them some decent game time last week when we were cruising against part timers? Instead of giving them a few minutes at the end and only using 3 out of the 5 subs you are allowed.

We have some really good players but constantly play them out of position to shoe-horn them in. It just never works out for us when we stupidly try this trick in big games, yet sure as hell you KNOW we will pull this same stunt yet again in another couple of important matches before the end of the year.

You should try to give yourself the best chance possible for a ravourable outcome - yet again we deliberately set out to make it unnecessarily difficult for ourselves.

I don't think We need hindsight eithet as it was obvious beforehand that this was the wrong gameplan. Even then, there was ample opportunity to correct it but he never even gave it a go! That is not on.
It's not just Europe either, BB. We took a pummeling in the League cup final and managed to get away with it, but no lessons were learned and we got humiliated by the huns a few weeks later.

Lenny's biggest successes as a boss came when teams would come onto us and we could counter them. He seems to have no real idea about how to force a game or break teams down. It's all really pedestrian, one-paced and really disjointed.

Groundhog Wednesday.

If Pistol Pete fancies himself as a big player, a market maker, then the option is offering wee Messi the Celtic player-manager role with 50 million bucks to spend of the inevitable mega-bucks sponsorship deals that flood in with an appointment like that.

And I'm only half-jestin'. Like, what do we have to lose...

I'm not so sure, Ally, Lenny looks like a man at the end of his rope. That fire and fury he had in his first stint looks like it's gone and it doesn't look like he's feeling it anymore.

I think it might also highlight how significant big Johan, Alan Thomson and Garry Parker were too. I don't believe that his current staff have the presence or gumption to question Lenny's excesses.
Exactly SP. I've been questioning the lack of support Lennon has since he returned. i don't believe there is anyone there now who will take him to one side and talk to him straight - or tell him he has got it wrong. Or put a firework up his arse to get him gee'd up again (he is hardly inspiring sitting cross armed in the dugout).

Your cliques and divisions comments is probably more prevelant than you think BB, even before tonight. Lenny saw that coming after Killie yet the players he questioned bar one all played tonight. Thats worrying- not that players want away or that cliques form, that's normal enough but playing them and then blaming them for not giving enough. Come on...don't play them

If you get to questioning players wanting to be there, you need to look inwards and question why you play them. If he can't do that someone needs to have the balls to question him. No place for sycophants as assistants. Their role. privately of course is to challenge.

Sadly this season we are seeing the Neil Lennon I feared we were re-signing as manager. The stubborn, malcontented, almost disinterested,)))) tactically naive grump brooding on the touchline ignoring the fiasco unfolding on the pitch. I hope we very very quickly get back the quick witted, passionate, tactically astute, fantastic man-manager that we know he is capable of - before we totally blow this season!

And Lawwell - GTF! You all asked for support and our fantastic ST holders more than delivered - you owe them big time, you charlatan. Start earning that huge salary (higher than most CEOs in the EPL) you take home every season.

I said it before Lenny was announced as manager again BB and was shot down in flames for it.....that the whole 'Lenny's a Celtic man, he knows what it's all about' was a fucking sideshow and that my biggest fear with him coming back was his tactical naivety and here we are once again paying the price for it.

Fuck that was worse than naivety that was the same insanity that saw McGregor at LB against Cluj! There's no excusing that and if he doesn't get a grip of this team and soon then he may end up being remembered as the man who blew the 10 and none of us want to see that happen.

With the players we have we shouldn't be struggling against the likes of Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd and we certainly shouldn't be getting fucked out the CL by teams like that mob. It's poor management end of!

James McClean with a 50p budget in the same role would deliver the 10. No soup on his dietary plan.

Playing no Strikers at home in a must win match is criminal. Lennon put his faith in the old guard , we scraped by with an Ajeti goal against Dundee, that should have been a wake up call. It looks like Lennon has dropped into apathy and that most likely is through frustration. Who knows? Not a fan o him but he has delivered, notably after New Year. ( more of a Hun collapse maybe?) There are underlying issues here. We should be way in front domestically and a fortress in europe, why are we not? Has Lennon created a divide by sticking to his pals ( midfielders) , denying all new blood? Lennon gambled and lost, to say he will get criticism and that he is ok with that? He got it the last time, he didn't learn, does that mean he ignores it? Above it maybe? Lawells puppet, no one can challenge his decisions. Standards are falling faster than lassies pants at a Cliff Richard concert!

Fs Lenny, This better pay off.

Nope, Absolutely scunnering again.

Looks like we have a major malfunction. Tonight's result takes the utter biscuit. I'm not one to jump on the Lenny out bandwagon, but I have lost even more confidence in the management team tonight. I'd pass on the Europa for all it's worth too. Waste of time.

ps, I cant believe I didn't use profanities in this post

Something isn't sitting right and there looks like there is a significant disconnect at the moment.

I guess that some lads are questioning the paypokes of others, but the harmony that was all too evident not so long ago seems in pretty short supply right now.

Lenny went down the 'blame the players' route at Hibs and we know how that worked out

Hope hes wrong n dismissed it at time but now provan definitely has at least a point.

On utube Barkas looked d biz, but he looks timid n silent wiv us so far.
apart from Mo, shit all round but Barkas money shud have stopped at least 1of em.

Hope he proves 2 b a Wall, but we already had a wall!

NFL clearly wanted D wall back, D Wall wanted 2 come back
https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5764020/celtic-forster-permanent-transfer-loan/

but pistol petes spin doctor says we pulled out all d stops out!!

all d stops only meanz ALL D STOPS wen it comes to al the st0ps in dmill000000ns in pistol petes wages n bonus.

Mllions of Bonus 4 pisstol Pete who knowin wot woz at stake dis season n d urgency of CL qualifiers - tried 2 haggle for 2 weeks wiv 2 shyster hustlers at west ham b4 he agrees 2 pay wot dey want n waste/buy a unmatch fit striker.

We get wot we deserve.
Pistol pete gets his bonus on dealz, so doesny care as much if win lose or draw.

He can always sell Eddie n make up d lost millions AGAIN.

Forrest not at races tonight. Frimpong on with 12 mins to go and showed more guile and passion. Age catching up with Broonie..
Why do we buy so many players and not give them a chance ?
Persisting with his favourites will cost Lennon his job.
How can Lennon claim that Klimala isn't fit ? If he has been training all summer , putting in extra hours and being dedicated then the only reason he isnt fit is that Lennon wont play him. He is certainly fit enough to start and play an hour.
Poor defensive midfield play exposes our defence every European qualifier but we persist with the same players.

When was Forrest last at the races?
