Where do we go at the end of this season.I just hope the 10 and Cups are secured this season and we can all take a look at the future, here is my own personal view.I think the board need to set out a four year plan so we are not running around trying to sign players and get loan players in at the last minute , we need a settled squad to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League which we havnt done for the last four seasons.

My understanding is that the players listed below want to move on so let them go at the end of the season provided we get proper transfer fees. My suggestions .
Kris Ajer £15,000,000
Ryan Christie £15,000,000
Odsonne Edouard £30,000,000
Oliver Ntcham £10,000,000
Callum Mc Gregor £20,000,000
---------------------------------------
Total income £90,000,000

I would let Shane Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi go at the end of the season saving the club a further £80,000 a week in wages.
and I would sign Diego Laxalt on a four year deal.I would let Scott Brown take over the management and coaching of one of the under age teams.

I would employ a new proven manager who would bring a competent back room staff with him.He would control all transfer matters with the director of football. He would have a war chest of £90,000,000 to buy players.

A new C.E.O. would be good he would run the day to day business of the club and keep him out of the football matters including the trasfer dealings.I think Peter has run his course,a nice job for the right canditate £3,000,000 a year.
If Dermot Desmond is the business man that we all thing he is needs to have serious look at the overall picture of the club.

Even after selling the want away players we have the basis of good squad for a new manager to take over including
Scott Bain, Vasilas Barkas, Conor Hassard,

Jeremie Frimpong, Hatem Abd Elhamed, Srephen Welsh, Anthony Ralston, Christopher Jullian, Nil Britton, Deago Laxalt, Greg Taylor,
David Turnbull, Ismail Soro, Luca Connell, Tom Rogic, Ewan Henderson, Karamoko Dembele,

James Forrest, Leigh Griffith, Albian Ajeti. Patryk Klimala, Micky Johnston,
Plus whatever players are out on loan and a £90,000,000 budget.

These are just my personal views and no doubt everyone will have their own views on the way forward for our club.
I might have a go at Peters job when it is advertised but i wont hold my breath .Hail Hail ;)

I have no problem with your long term outlook derry bhoy but still think it is to soon to be looking at such matters just yet.
I don't think lenny will be our manager at the start of next season regardless of how this season pans out.
Yes I also agree we will be looking at very much a new squad being assembled.
The main problem I see, is at the moment we are like a club that has to change every 2 years with transfers and management.
Although this policy has generated income in the transfer market, it has left us very unstable when transfer window is open.
This uncertainty needs to change if we want to make headway in European competitions.
So yes big changes I believe are needed for the long term, but let's get the quad treble and the 10iar secured first before worrying about the next chapter of our wonderful history

We've won 9 titles in a row, could be quad treble winners next month so we're doing something right!

The biggest disappointment for me is some of absolute dross we've signed in the last 5/6 years, millions wasted on players just not good enough, far too many to name them all!

Then theres our failure to qualify for the champions league losing to bang average sides we should be beating year after year!Something needs to change because we keep making the same mistakes.

If theres players that want out then get them sold and bring in quality, guys with the same attitude as Laxalt who lets face it has showed more heart than anyone so far this season!Hope we get him signed on a permanent contract.

Maybe we have to just sit down and analyse that the team who are challenging are going all in and this poses a new problem to address. So maybe its a matter of accepting every game points now is a prisoner and only when there is clear daylight can experiments within the squad take place.

Only the manager knows at what fitness levels some of the squad are at and the levels been targeted, have noticed a lot of twinges and hamstrings and this imo is simply due to the extended break and quickness to get the games back on, that as a result there was no pre season or holidaying to get the feel good factor gelling. Training at home and then atempting to emulate last season takes time if the mental and physical training is adjusted by covid default.

But there is no doubt now the team should be looking at a settled format and it should be a format that permitts players coming back and players just in the door and now ready to slot right into. Covid also has upset the ability to have behind close door games that would allow players to get their sharpness back in tune. Due to covid everything is recorded for bubble protocols and nothing can be done on the hoof or ad hoc.
Think there is still a few mental challenges players are facing caused by the changing working conditions that they have never been used to, all the games now is centred round the player having to motivate himself when there was times he could rely on the crowd to drive him through the last minutes, marathon runners suffer in races when they hit the imaginery in their head wall and it takes years to conquer this mental block that seperates the pros from the also rans, players are experiencing this, I believe, and are just now slowly starting to adapt to the surroundings they play in.

Thats my take anyway and i could be so wrong, but the conditions they perform under in 2020 is not normal and must be strangely eerie when they play.

last year these players were part of the 4 year plan imo

guess the 4 year plan is hard to implement when your players are still underpaid in market but overpaid by the clubs sustainability

you cant plan 4 years of top tier football when you are not in top tier tv subsidy

and there is the problem

4 year plans require 4 years guaranteed incomes that can afford top tier level players

you either run at loss in gamble that they will sell for more and remain motivated after 4 years

also every 4 years, even if your players sign up to it, you have heavy turnover of staff and may well lose synergy quality and instantly irreplaceable staff, a bit like the dudes you mentioned above

therefore losing serious title credentials In short term of the next 4 year plan

other considerations to overcome in the plan

transfer window closes long after our European journey starts

how to you get players in fast for europe without paying excessive premium for start of campaign?

what if form drops in certain players do you sell them cheap or play them through bad form in hope it changes

if it foist how do you qualify for group stages with out of form 4 year planned players not cutting it?

how do you motivate someone trapped in 4 year plan but no longer happy at club?

I agree with a lot of your points but no way we can afford a £90m budget. The prices for some of the players seems high - Ajer for example will be going into the last year of his contract. I'd be doing my best to hang onto Calum MacGregor too.

But definitely need a proper long-term strategy and to actually play the players we've spent £millions on.

comes with the risk they dont cut it well enough to win league though

and no matter how much you get for a player

how do you replace good players not getting wage they feel they deserve with better or same quality on wages less or same as dude who wants out coz he feels underpaid?

probably cause they have access to off balance sheet accounting and never seem to get reprimanded for doing it in a way that would stop their access to potentially fraudulent finance.

I somehow dont think Celtic or any other club in scotland would be allowed such clandestine finance??

trust is important

trusts derail trust

missnomer

trust them they arra peepo is the cry, perhaps it gifts them special status with the 3rd estate systems that allow that kind of trust to derail justice??

Anyone who feels they are trapped shouldnt have been at the club in the first place. Just sell them

You've sold it to me, DB.........I'll hazard a guess that the club are going to have to cut their cloth accordingly after the financial carnage of Covid-19 takes effect and offloading high earners is likely going to be a necessity rather than a luxury.

I wouldn't lay money on PL giving up the day job while there's brass to be made though, so yeah - don't hold your breath unless you've got a spare iron lung kicking aboot.

Our board have not helped the situation by refusing to stand up and highlight these issues. res 12 an example

derails the 4 year plan though

And humans get better and worse

if christie signs up for 4 year plan but suddenly becomes much better and say Everton want to offer him 4 times his wage or more

do you let him go and try replace him with lesser quality player?

or do you say you should be dealing with our 4 year plan you greedy B

4 year plans are only possible for top tier clubs

we are excluded from top tier by tv money

therefore imo planning is restricted to the next season only and restricted by sustainable wage system of tier you are in

Boyata

not the greatest cb in world

imo miles better stronger faster than any of our current centre backs, but still error prone in our system.

let go free but next dude is mark down due to restrictions on wages imposed by subsidy system at top tier leagues
Never trusted him ,always felt he was a player capable of a massive fuckup at any moment. If hes stronger than our current Cbs then god help us because he was easily bullied.Did have some decent games for us right enough 😂
