Recruitment 2020

not as a player but I do think he is one of the sources of discontent

and I agree our players are paid well enough to screw the nut but seems modern day players are more into bank balances than football ethic

sad

I dont think he our worst player

but I do think we might be better off either signing him or not loaning at all

im no fan of loans

especially when squad is over packed with that position

Like I said mate I just don't see the 'source of discontent' where Moi is concerned but if there is and if it's based on other player's noses being put out of joint because of his wage then that's their issue not Moi's, what he is or isn't earning doesn't excuse their lack of professionalism or how they're reacting to the situation.

I agree with you when it comes to loan deals though, not really a fan either as I think on the whole most loan players are inevitably going to be less invested in the team and club's push for success as they know they're in a temporary situation with a definite end point and are unlikely to be around too long to take the plaudits or face the music.

Most loan players who come to Celtic have no interest signing on for us long term, they see it as a way of working their way back into their parent club's first team plans or a way of putting themselves in the shop window to get a move elsewhere so although there are occasions when these deals benefit us in the short-term (Forster, Moi, Laxalt, Roberts etc.) they mostly only serve to add to the uncertainty and constant state of change in the longer term.

Unfortunately we made the decision and we're stuck with it 🍀

And therein lies one of the biggest problems at Celtic CG......if I and others could see this a mile off why couldn't the management? Or did they see it but were overruled by our CEO who fancies himself as a DoF/scout?

Couple of us on here (myself, DILLIGAF and a few others) flagged up the move for Ajeti before he eventually signed as well. His record at his previous clubs was far from prolific, decent 2nd spell at Basel many years ago but other than that nothing of note to warrant shelling out £5m for him.

That's £10.5m right there☝️ and both are warming the bench! Who is making these decisions?

So many questions left unanswered shadow that only adds to the current mess we are in.
Agree totally about this loan system has backfired on us big time this season, moi and Duffy only really hoping to get contracts elsewhere next season, lax open to be snapped up elsewhere as he should have been a snip at the money been asked for him.
Why did we even bother to sign Turnbull, Barkas and ajeti if not going to be regular starters for us.
Think we really need to reorganise the whole structure of our club if we want to move forward

It reflects exactly what we're seeing on the pitch at the moment mate......no discernible strategy in place just a disorganised, poorly thought out mess!

Could any of us see this current mess coming beforehand as I certainly didn't

Don't get me wrong I'm more Nostradumbass than Nostradamus most of the time mate but quite a few of us were sounding the alarm about Lenny's lack of tactical nous before he signed on for the 2nd time and again a few of us were similarly sounding the alarm in the early stages of this season about not only the team's vulnerabilities/issues with formation and tactics/player's playing roles they weren't suited to but were also highlighting certain issues with our transfer targets.

I think many of us COULD see some of this coming (though not quite as bad as it's been) while others just didn't want to acknowledge it or thought it would work itself out in the long run.

I’m watching St.Mirren v Aberdeen.
I don’t know why we let Johnny Hayes go. Plus Gordon and Simnovic. I know they had their injury issues but when fit they would have been better than what we have just now.
Aww ffs hindsight is a dream isn’t it move on mate Whits done is done

had they kept these guys and we were in same position would that have been the cheap option?

but spending loads of money is the cheap option too

I'm not so sure.its poor recruitment but it's poor the way the management are using them
We could sign Messi but he'll not score sitting in the stands every game
We pursued Turnbull yet don't play him.
Every ones slating Polish Paddy but the kids not had a chance he's scored a couple of decent goals but can do nothing sat on his arse.
Barkas hasn't been brilliant but a bomb scare defence hasn't helped.
Lenny continues to pick the same guys week in week out regardless of form.
As to fitness they look knackered and we've been told that several are not match fit that's his issue he needs to sort it.
I thought he'd have learnt from the squeaky door at Ibrox about throwing players under the bus it doesnt work.

Finally the problem is with the loan signings and the recent ones we bought.
They aren't the ones we'll be selling to balance the books.

Personally I'd get some of the young academy players into the team
