Celtic v Ross County - Match Thread

If Karamoko thinks hes being treated unfairly and wants to leave then good luck to him but he should look at Feruz before making a daft decision.
Can't compare Karamoko & Feruz, Feruz left without ever signing a professional contract, at 16 Karamoko signed a professional contract even though he had big clubs after him, he committed himself to Celtic & it's us who have let him down by hiring a dinosaur manager who rarely gives youth players a fair opportunity. This is all on the board & Lenny, not Karamoko.

the only thing I learned from tonight is lennon cant fix this team.

Same tactics, same result again

he may have picked slightly different shape but tactics were no supporting shape no proper awareness, big gaps between players

slightly deeper which gave eddy bit space

but fundamentally no tracking their movement

no players in centre when they break

centre backs easily pulled wide out of comfort
huge gaps and defence has no support

easy prey for countering unit to create lots of good chances while not creating very much against them

elyounousi needs binned

too many vibes off him even when we scored, ntcham no even bothering to chase when he sees guy breaking

ntcham needs binned

brown has no composure or presence anymore needs binned

we need settled back 4

and a stronger central midfield that supports both defence and attack

we need better supply from wings or target men strikers who can handle high balls better

Lennon will get more and more downhearted, for his health he needs replaced

for the club lawell needs replaced

I have this weird feeling they will appoint someone just before AGM to deflect all the issues that need addressed

the silence on all fronts must end

board needs revamp

management needs a complete revamp

sadly I think that means 10 is even harder to acheieve

I dont like loans

I dont think they help with stability at club

the players who aren't happy with their wages will not try as hard if you have loan players getting mega bucks

the hubris needs cut off before its gangrene sets club back even further

Lennon performances have been very poor

his media performances have reinforced garbage or thrown people under bus

still he thinks that dross is very good at times

before game I was less excited for game, but that result performance still hurt as bad on my eyes and my mind

no spine

not in the players and not in his set up

easy to pick it off

knackers players excessively and demoralises them to point they not functioning as any kind of team

no width despite too many people wide

no cm despite having 5 on park

timing of runs are out

and nobody knows where anybody is and even when they see them they too far away for meaningful passing

just rank rotten
Can’t disagree. Whose fault is it that Elhamed was told to play closer to julien meaning hardly any crosses were stopped against Sparta? Who dropped Eddy to bench against Hibs when he had been on fire for under 21s and who has been savaging team to the press resulting in lack of confidence, lack of motivation, lack of cohesion and zero team spirit???? As soon as I saw midfield trio of Brown, Ntcham and Macgregor my heart sank. We need players who are hungry and want to be playing for Celtic.

I’m thinking Taylor left back and laxalt left midfield
Taylor is a more solid defender which we need right now and Laxalt great going forward, busy enough pressing for a midfieldwe
El Hamed right back
Much less exposed to the diagonals that are exposing our weak centre

That's been my feeling for a while now. At the moment our defenders first priority should be defending. With that then do we need such a deep lying defensive midfielder as well domestically or more of a deep lying playmaker almost in a quarterback type role (CalMac).

I would double up Taylor behind Laxalt. It provides us with better defensive structure and exploits Diego's fantastic attacking instincts.

Bringing Turnbull in adds a lot of dig, drive and energy, with the added benefit of a much needed goal threat from midfield which we have missed in Forrest's absence.

I think we need to be sensible - we don't need to tie ourselves down to a fixed 11 for over 10 games. So let's use the flexibly afforded to us with the 5 subs rule.

I'd really suggest tightening things up and playing a defensive back 4. I'd move Laxalt into midfield, with Taylor as LB and play 2 up front.

Barkas
Elhamed Duffy Jullien Greg
Rogic CalMac Turnbull Laxalt
Edouard Ajeti

I'd prefer Griff up front with Eddy but I'm assuming he is still injured. I think if we have a solid back 4 and a proper attacking hard working midfield then we will win a cup game at home against Ross County.

Couldn’t agree more BB
We need to defend first and foremost
People think it’s only Ross county but it’s the chance to put some work into a formation
I always thought Taylor became a bit of a whipping bhoy for some for no real reason other than not being as great as tierney
