Luca Connell....

Ridiculous the way some of these young lads are being treated and no wonder they're off
The seasons over why not give them a run out and a chance to show what they can do.
I read the other day that we're looking to buy Dembeles brother in a hope it will convince him to stay
If you want him to stay play him and then he might encourage his brother to come also
If he's said he wants away due to lack of chances he's hardly going to tell his brother to take a pay cut.and come to Glasgow to sit at home.

Happy for him that he has got off to a good start. Having him match sharp by the time the new manager comes in will give him a better chance. It's a pity we didn't find a better club to send him to.
I can see the logic of keeping him in glasgow but for a lad that was coming through in league 2 for Bolton to then play in Scotlands league 2 won't improve him apart from giving him mins.
For reasons why he hasn't had game time with us then there could be quite a few.
He would be playing in a defensive mid position and apart from his long range passing he is missing a few bits to his game still. The way we have been setting up with our cbs playing from the back, no wingers and the only width coming from L&RB there has been no one there to pick up the ball in the areas he can put it.
Even if he did it would be landing into two lines of players parked up.
His pace, strength and tackling would need to improve if he was to hold down a regular DM spot.
The amount of times we have went completely flat in mf this season has been excruciating and Lucas ability to play a different pass could of been used from the bench but wasn't. With 5 subs available Lenny also never left a set piece taker on the park for long spells which was criminal. Only Turnbull and Griff seem to be off any use. Luca has that ability as well.
If we bring in some creative pacey wide players in the summer then we could see the best of him. We were jam packed with center mids or AMs that only drift wide. I can't work out how we went from a million wingers to none.

Man of the match in a third tier match... probably his level at the moment...be good for him to get game time though

League 2 is the fourth tier.

That said, I bet it's frantic and he'll be getting kicked a lot playing against men every week. It's better than nothing, which is exactly the football most of our youths have had in the last year. He's earned man of the match in every game he's played, apparently.

The bhoy is only 19. Maybe he'll get a chance under a good manager next season. I thought he looked brilliant in that one first team game against Hibs in pre-season. Midfield is tough, though. You'd think someone would be giving him a nudge and telling him to brush up as a left-back. Apparently he can play there.

I think the way the young players have been dealt with by Celtic has been disgraceful. Even going back to young Jack Aitchison, he didn’t get much of a chance. Now he’s with Barnsley but out on loan to Stevenage.

I have often thought that Celtic should have an arrangement with several clubs in lower leagues in maybe Scotland England and Ireland to drip feed youngsters when they're old enough to get senior grade football. It would be a lot better than what they're gettin at the moment.

Listed as covering that position Larry but he isn't the type of player we require there.
It's all down to pace and what we demand. Luca wasn't bought as a lb prospect.
I don't think its done him any favours with that position linked to him. For various reasons.
Think he has a bit of magic as a deep playmaker.
What level he will reach? Who knows.

Our final 20mins have been the worst and most shakey displays I've watched.
Lucca ain't getting thrown into that under previous mgmt
Probably when those games needed a shake up.

Lad has talent no doubt.

I'm also not conned into anything. Our youth reporting has went into overdrive pr wise for the last few years.

For me it's been a cunning distraction and it's been used well, lapped, distracted and pulled on heart strings to good effect.

I've no problem for building for the future but the success rate is low.
Too many headlines of future starlawlts but it's been solid first starts we have needed and have been slowly eroded and not improved or replaced and sold at the right time. Or even allowed to move.

Keep both eyes on the first 11. We haven't and paid for it.

Of course he’d be a star in that league, he’s stepped down too far, shoulda went to another premier league team till we seen what he was all about
