Celtic v Livingston - League, Saturday 10th April, KO 3pm

He was on the training ground under Lennon's guidance, Lennon's orders....it's no coincidence that over the last 3 or 4 games we have started to play like the Rodgers Celtic that were at times devastating....if and if it's a big if, we beat the huns twice at their shithole and lift the cup, Kennedy should definitely be considered for the job...no question
"No Fucking Way" sorry as part of the problem he is not the solution. HH.

Great to see the new manager putting his mark on the team...Clearly Lennon muddied the waters after Brendan left and his style confused the team...Kennedy has them playing like they were under him and Rodgers

Dont understand all the Kennedy hate TBH...He is rated by those who have trained with him and coached with him ...sure he is a bit dour in his demeanour but he must have something about him

Give him the job
Sorry No, No, No. This man is not a Celtic manager. He needs to leave start at the bottom and work his way up. I would rather have Paul Hartley he has at least put his reputation and name towards lesser clubs showing the desire to work on his trade. HH

Ok, so, youre a Bournemouth fan...you are languishing in the lower leagues and staring at an abyss...the board appoint an untried manager but a man who was a solid if unspectacular player at the club...the fans cry murder and call for blood..nobody wants this young an untried manager managing at their club...we want a big name, we want this , we want that ...we cant have a guy who has not managed before etc...The untried, appointed manager takes this team to heights they have never reached before...he becomes the messiah
everything is relative of course and celtic are obviously a much bigger team but Kennedy is a man who has worked under 6 Celtic managers both in a coaching and playing capacity...Nobody is better qualified for the expectation levels at Celtic than him domestically and on a european level
Sorry mate I work at an airport I serve pilots and help them buy goods do you want me to fly the next plane you fly in? HH.

Won't deny if that should happen the calls will become louder for JK and with you Docco been the main cheer leader.
I would still want a more established manager to oversee the summer project of the rebuild yet I would still love to see JK gain his own success as he still deserves that much I think.

Hi to all my fellow noisers. 2 thoughts on our next manager No1 it cannot be John Kennedy no2 if Howe isn't desperate to take the job then he too shouldn't be our next manager. If this means we Hire a man for 1 or 2 years then so be it. May I remind you friends that nobody had heard of Dr Joe but what a difference he made to our squad "lubo", so lets not get hung up on Howe. Would I like him "yes" will be gutted and if he doesn't want the job "no. So chin up, HH C,Mon the boys.

Like I have mentioned before mancbhoy, still believe a lot would be going on in the background before any new manager would be announced and worse still didn't fancy taking the job on the conditions that may be attached.
We all want a manager with a good pedigree behind him, yet as a club will we be able to match there desires and ambition as we didn't seem to bothered about it this season

Celtic as a business could earn 30 million pounds if they can reach the group stages of the Champions league. The first qualifying game is on July 21st which is just 99 days away and next week it will be just 92 days away. In our last two games we have scored 9 goals and conceded zero. When we win the derby next week, whenever it is played, then which available manager and backroom team will we want? I cannot abide the critical comments about John Kennedy. They reek of pessimistic cultural cringe. How can a man already in the ranks possibly be good enough to be the manager of Celtic think the pessimists. We surely need to have an Englishman or a Swiss, or a German or an Austrian messiah. How could a Scotsman possibly be good enough. International experts are surely always better than home grown ones. I have no idea if Howe or any other manager will be appointed by the Board. I for one would be happy if John Kennedy was given the permanent job. Here's a challenge! Tell me 5 positive things about JK and 5 negative things. Be as objective as possible. Weigh up the pros and cons. Then do the same for any other possible manager. It's a useful way to take the emotion out of decision making. I've done this and I cannot find 5 negative factors about JK. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. There's a contrary proverb to suit every argument I know. Answer these questions
Who can have us best ready for July 21st?
Who best knows our squad? Our best team?
Who best knows which players to offload?
Who best knows which positions need filled with other players?
Who best knows tactics? Has a Plan B?
Who do the squad respect?
Who has been associated with 12 trophies in a row?
For the Board to choose any other candidate then they must think that the answer is someone else.

Hi John I know that like a lot of us, there is a certain amount of frustration when it comes to who it's going to be and when it will happen, personally I think there is a certain amount of fear that we may be dumped with Kennedy because DD, isn't that bothered. As we have both posted on various threads we have a desire to push the club forward not just in Scotland but also in Europe. There is a question as why we are bothered about Europe, we'll as a small nation we enjoy the fun of Europe but also its nice to see how others think and live. Unlike our neighbours who only want to piss on other cultures. HH

There's no way he should be offered the job. He has no experience managing a club let alone one the size of Celtic. You mention playing like Rodgers yet you're forgetting to mention how dire the football became under Rodgers. Infact it was painful to watch coming near the end.
I don't know whether to take you serious or not, simply because you come out with a lot of daft shite. You were 100% behind Lennon. Then you wanted brown in. Then it was bring strachan back. Now its kennedy. You remind me of a friend of mine who is one of the most awkward hooers you'll ever meet. He always argues the opposite of everyone else and if you eventually agree with him then he'll swing the argument back the other way.
If you are serious about Kennedy, I have one question for you. Do you think the Celtic support will accept him as the next manager given the fact he played his part in fuckin up one of the most important seasons in Celtic history?
Great win yesterday, but one swallow never made a summer.

Disagree docco. The last 3 to 4 games we have been as bad as we have been all season. We have got results but these are dead rubber games. Against livi we played some great football, it's amazing what some wingers on the pitch can do, but we can't let this 1 match make us believe somehow that the rest of the games under kennedy have been enjoyable to watch...they really really really haven't.

Another Kennedy fan today..Big Erik
It's funny how all these ex- team mates and co workers who actually know what he is like to work with and what he can bring to Celtic are saying!
Id much rather take their word for it before the word of a rambling person behind the keyboard of his ZX Spectrum😳

My favourite supervisor is that one that says "take it easy the day lads" or "tell ye wit boys, finish early and go for a pint".....just because ex players say he's good to work with doesn't make him manager material. He's a coach that's oversaw our players fitness levels completely plummet. You can blame lennon all you want. But what does it say about kennedy as a force in the dressing room. He either didn't care about the levels dropping, was to scared to approach lennon about it or worse he knew what was happening and allowed it for his own gains.

Docco, you seem like a character that speaks his mind. If you were on a job were you saw things go tits up, would you tell your boss?? Or would you just watch it fall apart?? Saying Kennedy was working under lennon shouldn't be an excuse. He was part of the management team that ruined our season.

The Noise is an absolutely brilliant forum if we want to gauge the opinions and thoughts of our fellow Celtic supporters. But that's really all it is. Opinions. If I'm honest I don't really have the required depth of knowledge on the abilities of the plethora of names being regurgitated in the press. Each and every one of them, regardless of past record, brings a degree of gamble. That's why I struggle with comments which include words like "if" and "maybe"; it's also the reason I've switched off from the speculation spouted from journalists who quote "sources".

I've seen the club slated for the time taken to announce a new gaffer. I get the impatience, I really do, but surely the important thing is to make as correct a decision as is possible to make. Also, if any given candidate is in no rush, { and make no mistake, it's a major decision for him too }, to commit himself, then, it's obviously gonna drag on.

I really do wish I could be as certain as some of my fellow Noise members as to who is best suited for what is a major rebuild of our club. I want the best man for the job, no question whatsoever about that. I just have no idea who that man is. Probably strayed off subject with this thread due to yesterday's performance, so I'll just mention, it was a good performance against livi. Same again next week please ?
