It's enticing me to say...maybe The Famous Grouse .........well you never know
Was wondering what you use computer side for the photos?
Photography is an art. The kit is extortionate.
Whats the minimum set up?
My ma has become photo daft with me and my brothers sprogs.
I sorted her with a new phone a71 that had a 64mega pixel camera.
Massive upgrade on her old one.
It lit a wee fire in her. Its worth encouraging.

Obsessed with nice pictures now.
Im more than happy for her to do the family paparazzi as its good to have it to look back on.

Is there a cheapo easy to use photoshop program you could recommend paired with say an entry level camera?

Its her bday coming up and me and my brothers are stumped

It would have to be a fairly light program for her wee laptop. It would catch fire if a full high render was asked of it

In the camera world BBB....It's true what they say about you only get what you pay for......It took me a while to get the rig I use now.....but it does make a big difference.....I would say get the best your budget will allow.....Things are changing real fast, with mirrorless etc.....so if I was looking for a decent camera now, I would look second hand DSLR, as they are falling in price bigstyle.....Lenses are different....They hold their price better.....So, it is worth investing in a decent lens.....Canon and Nikon are the best.....Sony is getting big in the market as well now....But, be prepared to pay big money....They aint cheap.....As far as software goes, I use Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop....I get that on a monthly subscription, £7 a month....There are a few free products out there.....but they ain't the same as using photoshop, not as good, but can still deliver if you use them correctly, thats another learning curve.....The trick is to get the exposure correct at time of capture, then there is hardly any post processing needed.....That's why, the better the camera and lens, when used correctly(not auto) the better the image....

Let me know if you see something you may buy, and I will give you the best advice......

Nothing better, than getting outdoors and connecting with nature...its good for the soul

Can’t go far wrong with Nikon or canon, personally I’d buy a new entry lvl model, there loads of deals out there with the body and a short zoom and a telephoto lens, you’ll need a decent laptop as tablets are limited in storage and processing power to handle the large file sizes needed for photographs, photoshop is the industry’s standard program, but it’s not for a beginner....

That's the lens I am using now.....One of the best for wildlife photography....Not too heavy and with a 2x converter on it you get 800mm without loss of image quality

Showing aff noo lenno, that’s a lens only professionals or well heeled amateurs could afford, as you know it’s field craft that’s 85% behind good wildlife photos, you could achieve similar results with a cheaper lens, it’s all about knowing what your photographing, it’s behaviour, and habitat, you’ll not photograph many red grouse or red kites at Glasgow green, but it’s good for squirrels and pigeons 🤣

No you canny......Tried it ..been there.... ;)
That’s nearly 6k worth of glass mate, most people don’t spend that kind on money on a car......
E3F53FEC-12A6-468F-B85B-ABD718E97A07.jpegThat’s my telephoto, it’s an older model sigma 300mm 2.8 APO by the time you add the x1.5 to the facial length due to it being a 35mm film lens being used on a digital aps-c, it gives me a 450mm 2.8, but will only auto focus on my older Nikon DSLR, need to manual focus on my newer model.....I used to do a lot of sports photography, and music stuff worked freelance for the sun and the evening times, but sadly lost a lifetimes negatives due to an acrimonious divorce (she threw the fecken lot out) 😢 I photographed EVERY band/artist that playered in Glasgow from 85-95 from frank Sinatra to Kyle minogue and everyone in between oasis, blur, Motörhead ac/dc, the stones......enough material for a book and an exhibition.....gone ☹️
