In the camera world BBB....It's true what they say about you only get what you pay for......It took me a while to get the rig I use now.....but it does make a big difference.....I would say get the best your budget will allow.....Things are changing real fast, with mirrorless etc.....so if I was looking for a decent camera now, I would look second hand DSLR, as they are falling in price bigstyle.....Lenses are different....They hold their price better.....So, it is worth investing in a decent lens.....Canon and Nikon are the best.....Sony is getting big in the market as well now....But, be prepared to pay big money....They aint cheap.....As far as software goes, I use Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop....I get that on a monthly subscription, £7 a month....There are a few free products out there.....but they ain't the same as using photoshop, not as good, but can still deliver if you use them correctly, thats another learning curve.....The trick is to get the exposure correct at time of capture, then there is hardly any post processing needed.....That's why, the better the camera and lens, when used correctly(not auto) the better the image....

Let me know if you see something you may buy, and I will give you the best advice......

Nothing better, than getting outdoors and connecting with nature...its good for the soul
What you do is a science pal. Shutters, exposure etc. Blows my tiny mind. Notwithstanding patience and perseverance.

Thanks for that pal.....really appreciated.....Your totally correct in what you say....Light changing all the time.......so changing exposure is a must.....and aye, sometimes I sit fur hours, but I feel good about it.....Anyway, here's a Short eared Owl I captured.......I went up the mountains when it was dark, and waited till first light when the SEO arrived....a long wait, but worth it for me :)
