Postecoglou Deal Done: “Might “Might as well be White Smoke from the Vatican,” or “Green Smoke from Celtic Park”

Cheers Sham there was a John Hughes in my class at the Mags as well as Tommy Craig and another great player that went to the Mags was Eddie Gray Celtic mad, Leeds United legend was in one of my older brothers class, older noisers will know who I am talking about
Maybe John Hughes is just his moniker for on the Noise. Tony Soprano isn't really Tony Soprano right?

The community part and loss of it?
Old buildings need torn down.
Nobody attends local clubs because we are on fourms...
You need kids in affordable areas for people to link.
Areas like the gorbals teardown are where young people flat share skint so they can sub it into work and cant afford a car.
There's still community but the old yins don't see it. The pissups are still there the links with mates still exist. Its only a shorter term living there.
Move further out and get some weans is the path now.

I shared a flat with the ex in shawlands for 625, finished the lease and a worse place was 780. Level was 850pm.

Broke up and at the time 525 was getting a 2bed flat in Govanhill.

Moved out a bit further and got a cottage flat with a garden, garage and a big attic.
Prices are up again.

Communities are broken up or dint exist because of the housing market.

My mate is up in a good area, the neighbour, well on has a 400k house and irks the £200 monthly mortgage payment.
In the gorbals there's clubs there for the waens in the old St Francis church and the play barn at the other end of Cumberland street a few others as well. When I was a teenager and 20something I can remember there was around 20 pubs in the gorbals almost all are gone now. Along caledonia rd was the blarney stone, corner bar , tuckers , trainers bar all good Celtic pubs paddy trainers bar was bombed back in the day luckily one of the punters near the door saw a suitcase being slid in the door and kicked it back out the door saving more than a few peoples lives and the pub. We all know what that was about but reduction in pubs is an alarmingly sad thing to see. I could count on 1 hand the pubs left , the brazen head ( formerly the granite) the laurieston bar and the pig and whistle ( a mainly rangers pub ) and sharkeys good Celtic pub and that's it I think. The riverside tavern has been shut for a while now. These pubs are a big miss and when they went at the time there was a huge reduction in the population of the gorbals but that's back up now , not to the numbers of the 1st (tenements) or 2nd ( high flats) gorbals though. I get what you say about people flat sharing that's been going on for ever but I'd say that it's becoming more of a family area again these days. Many people buying places close to the toon. The gorbals #3 is a pleasing on the eye place and largely quiet and nice place to live but I did prefer the community #2 provided. If you could pub crawl that gorbals a pint a pub youd have to be carried hame if it was even possible. What really pisses me off is that all the pubs have no longer any pool tables. Have to go to a pool / snooker hall in cathcart rd / langside way or in the toon the 8 balls still there above the Scotia. A few tables up there and I hope they can reopen after all that's happened. All these eateries/ type pubs I fn hate them. I'm happy with a burger. Talking of St Francis I remember the huge crowds outside at Danny McGrains wedding, there was tommy burns Kenny Kenny dalgleish whose ma still lived up the sandiefield road flats at the time Tam Macadam and pretty much the whole side were there, they locked the doors and the players left by the side . Nostalgia has a lot to do with perceptions but these new areas have a long way to go to get to the standards of the places they're replacing.

Yes lovely new housing but not necessarily new communities with the dearth of amenities.

Why not just appoint the women's team manager at least he has the proper qualifications. Plus he has experience working with tits 🤣🤣
Living in Pattaya, Thailand from 2004 to 2016 (retired to village) do not disparage tits if a tit became a football manager he would be successful. Tits distract, confuse and rob guys of clinical, technical and logical thinking.
Plus at the end of a game you want more than shake a hand..... you get my drift

At times like these I seek out my mates Jim and Jack, the Daniels and Beams family make me mellow.
Poor substitutes for the real thing , you can drink jack straight from the bottle not many will have the stomach to do that with whisky, whiskey though especially sour mash no problem

Alert alert
We have a whiskey snob 🤣🤣
Not a whisky snob just pointing out the difference between American sour mash whiskey and their bourbon. Irish whiskey is the closest thing to real Scottish whisky. I'd like to see someone tan a bottle of jamiesons or any Scottish whisky from the bottle. Without chucking their guts up. It's not the same nothing like it at all but I'm not saying I dont enjoy jack or jim just saying that theres no comparison. It's the reason why WHISKY is the best selling in the world not whiskey.
