Went for a coffee yesterday with an old friend of mine
Mother Nature graced us with another 6 inches of snow overnight
He called me and said, mibbe we should cancel as the roads are sheets of ice
I said "No worries, I'll come and get you and we'll be fine
He's 75 and we've been friends for 40 years, he's been dealing with Parkinson's Disease for a few years, but has the greatest sense of humour
Picture this:
I drive down in my SUV and pick him up, it was Baltic and the streets were really slippy, and the snow was lying deep
I had no problem getting out of our place and as you can see it looked like a picture postcard in the area
When we got out at the Mall, the parking lot was a sheet of black ice, like a skating rink
We grabbed onto each other and made it into the place...then I thought "Fuck, Jack & Victor oot for the day..."
"It's a perra these yer wanting...Perma Grip soles...19.99 oota Timpsons"
Also the STILL GAME episode FREE LUNCH
Two old mates, laughing away at some of the adventures we'd had through the years, place was empty and 2 1/2 hours later, we 'skated' back to the chariot
