The Ange Postecoglou Appreciation Thread

Phase 2, reestablish our domestic dominance for the foreseeable future. And compete regularly in the group stages of the CL maybe getting out the group now and then, thats what I would like to see.

Realistically winning domestically is all we can hope for unless the celebrity golfer has other ideas.

I would like to see Ange being allowed to build from a position of strength, we know he can build from scratch, so lets back him Celtic and see where it takes us.

Loving the Anthenian style.

I just hope we can have him as manager for a very long time......I would hate to see a Bill Shankly/Liverpool scenario...when Shankly got 'bigger' than the board.....he was 'moved on'.....I see Ange as a caring man.....a man who listens.....and gives 'everyone' a welcome......He can work perfectly with strangers...Kennedy and Strachan....no probs......I think it will take him 2 seasons to make an impact on Europe......For this to happen he needs the backing of the board....Yes there will be EPL teams looking at him....but I have a feeling if he gets what he wants at Celtic he will stay with us for a long time......He is important to Celtic as much as Larsson was....

I have no faith in our board at all that he will be supported the way he needs to be.
It will work against him that he has come in and won a double.
He will be expected to do the same again with what he’s got or cheap alternatives.
I would love to see him clear out the defensive coaching staff and pay money for top class coaches. I feel like a stuck record on that, its no coincidence that whatever the players at the back over the last decade or more, its often been calamitous, certainly not good enough for the european stage. We had the firepower this year, we just didn’t have the coaches to keep the goals out. I view this as vital as any player signings.
He seems a str8 up honourable guy and will hang around as long as he feels supported, but u know what the board are like.

If Ange has been offered a new 4 year contract I think the Board have bought in to what he's selling.....personally I'd like to see some physically strong, tall, athletic, and technically gifted players brought in to beef things up a bit.....it's an area we need to address in my view.

Phase 2 has to be about us seeing a marked improvement on the European front.....I'd also like to see an astute tactical coach brought in to work alongside Ange in providing tactical alternatives to Angeball when needed.....not likely to happen but I think we need to have a plan B and C depending on varying circumstances.

Strap in.....it's going to be an exciting and wild ride.

In Ange we trust!!!

The whole thing is Board Driven if they back him he will build (film buffs) ?
This guy has the Charisma style and Girfuy that this club needs a no nonsense if you don’t want to stay then GO.
He’s built a Title winning team from Ashes in weeks. Imagine what he can do with the time he’s getting now.
Even the TiTs on our board realise we’ve got the real deal here sign him up pronto
Back him to the biscuit tin hilt.
He will deliver
Mon the Athenian Fenian
Mon the Hoops

This is Celtic were talking about ,we've been ayear free of Lawwell but now his son is in the door and daddy is courting the press with how he had file in his drawer and knew all about Ange ,so i fully expect the board in some way fk this appointment up and interfere ,it's in their dna

it would be a huge surprise if they didn't but we as a club have never went all in to build on success

 every day's a cloudy day even on champions day

I think his biggest attribute is the fact that he has said on numerous occasions, if any player doesn't want to play for Celtic, then he doesn't want them. Whether that's a player he has inherited or a new player he's trying to sign. He doesn't try to persuade anyone to sign for Celtic.
Celtic sells itself.

The fact he hasn't bought into the bullshit that the richer a league or club is, the bigger the team. He understands what makes a club big. It isn't rich Russian or middle Eastern suger daddies, it isn't the millions of sky or bt money. Its the fans and its the history....he is proud and happy to be associated with a truly great football club and he expects his players to be the same. In that sense he's different from Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers valued hard cash and self promotion...and he taught that to our players. Ange believes in playing for a cause and creating history as a team. I have no doubt Ange will make a proper mark in football and I hope its with Celtic. I truly believe that's what he wants also.

The more I hear about Ange, the more I just absolutely love him. He just cuts straight through the bullshit too. All the players love and respect him, and are willing to run through brick walls for him, even though he freely admits he isn't that chummy with them.

Here is an excerpt from last night's interview after we got through to the semi-final of the league cup against Motherwell. After battering Hibs 6-1 on Saturday, he still made 5 changes to the side and comfortably won 4-0 (although both games could have seen us score double figures). This is what he had to say about how he deals with dropping players who have just performed well for us.

Asked if it was tough to leave out players, the Hoops boss smiled: “I don’t tell them, I just avoid them, mate. I just put the team up and walk away. They all appreciate and understand that if we are going to be successful, playing this kind of football, everyone’s got their role. We still have seven games to go in this stretch before the break and it’s not a matter of me just giving guys a game because I feel sorry for them. I’m putting guys in there because I think we can maintain those levels.”

Watched the Celts for a long long time
Its been a while since I’ve enjoyed the football as much. We have won cups and leagues and while not taking them for granted I want to be entertained along the way. Ange has delivered in spades. Though I must admit watching one of your centre halfs waltzing down the left wing does give you the fear!!
I really think he will deliver history, on a Seville scale. Just hope I’m here to see it 🙂

We are blessed to have Ange. Consider what the Klan have to endure? They have already begun to turn on him and it will not end well for VB. For me, it is Angeball v Giogunge. Only one winner.

Basically Ange is a Ghod.

He picked up a team that was riven and torn asunder by wantaways and poor purchases. A team that had lost it's way and managed by someone they (rightly or wrongly) didn't hold in great esteem. They played like amateurs and were amateurishly coached and lost the record breaking 10iar.

Ange brought some players in and steadied the good ship Celtic F.C. and made us all enjoy being supporters again, especially after giving us our league back again.

Things have went from strength to strength as he's brought more and better players in who are capable of fulfilling Ange's footballing ideology.

Yes we get disappointed when we can't make the inroads we desire in European competitions but if the Board, the players and we, the supporters have his back for the foreseeable then I believe Ange is the man to take us to the next level.
