Well I completely understand where JimMc and TD are coming from and this thread was started as a light hearted thread about celebrating St Patrick’s day. SP yes this thread had moved on to other topics but TD had stsrted it as he did about St Patrick and so TD and JMc had every right to continue even after a day to discuss their arguments. There is no time limit surely and who decides time is up on a discussion. I’m well aware that some threads are taken off topic maybe to deflect from certain issues that maybe I know nothing of.

I can only put this quite simply as I’m not so well equipped academically as others in this debate. I’m Irish by decent and when I celebrate St Patrick’s day it’s in memory of the fight my ancestors had for their Faith here in Reformation Scotland. I celebrate that with joy and happiness and that they were strong and passed that down the generations to me. I’m Scottish by birth etc but I will always feel close to my Irish ancestors and their struggle. Maybe some might call it blind faith but if they fought for it then it was worth that fight to pass on.

I was taught well by my Mum about the British establishment and how they attacked the Irish people through so called ‘comedy’ programmes here and ridiculed the Catholic faith endlessly in the 60’s and 70’s tv. We never were allowed to watch them when we were young adults.

But insted he offers grace which is infinaely more valuable than all the wealth of the universe. But we reject eteranl grace and glory for temporal satisfaction of inner vice. We freely choose spiritual death for eternity for absolutely nothing we can take into the spiritual realm.

And it becomes our hell of our own choice.

Thats the stumbling block for the jews in bible. They thought chosen people means we are the people and gentiles are the slaves.

Same error protestats make. they want a wealthy life here and assume they get it next life just by saying I believe, but if they belived they would listen to the gospel and they would get bptised into the spirit of christ which is only authorised by the group christ gave authority. the true sainst of the catholic church.

The stumbling block for jews and protestants is stupidity of the gentiles (pagans, occult, pantheism, nature worship, new age etc etcetc) the gentiles who are the non israelite tribes in bible all belive in worldy glory and the way of of inner passions or self way is best. The God of everything would never have sacrificed himslef in their world. But the justice required to undo the fall of nature from grace required an infinite sacrifice and nothing else than God could balance the scale.

The spirituality that doesnt conform to fascist judaistic errors or the gentile religions have some truth but always reject that grace is required which comes to self will again. Cant reach god without sacrificing self for greater glory of god. which requires grace to break the slavery to self will.

And the only religion who teaches this (not saying they practise what they preach always, but thats coasue they too are fighting the inner battles with vices) is the Catholic church.

Protestants may be correct that if they repent on their cross jus before death beinga member of the church in life may not be neccessary, but it is at least very presumtious.

anyone who repents on their death bed can and will be saved but proably through the fires of purging in fight between super natural and prternatural spiritual world, and that may be a very long battle for the soul between the accuser Satan and the advocate our lady in front of the judge our lord.

Repentance on death bed requires great grace and may not be forthcoming if you havent built up the practice of virtues in life. Therefore prayers forthe living and the dead in purgaory the church suffering is neccesary and if you pray then you have become part of the church militant. and the hope is that you will be part of the church triumphant or Glorious in eternal heaven with the angels the sainst the blessed mother your advocate of mercy and christ the king of Justice at the righthand of the great white throne of light of unbgotten Glory in union with the spirit of eternal unbegtton grace and true. A hierachy of perfection at the wedding feast of the lamb and the bride his church.

Its all ben made easy by christ and his way yet still we opt for our way, my way, i did it my way with no regrets, erm ahem, in the temporal realm maybe, just wait till your a reside in the preternatural realms, and just hope that eternal justice doesnt cast you out ofthegrace of redemption. Regrets will becoem eternal blasphemy and gnashing of teeth with the pestilent breath of evil and remorse burning into the vices you aquired in life.

But be confident and frequent the sacraments and try to work with grace in carnal life and do your best always and grace will help you in the next life. And never despair ever. Trust in christ.
