Mr EBT typical of shameless SFA

JF today highlights that Mr EBT has lost 5 of 7 games. Astounding!
Any of Steve Clark ,Neil Lennon or dare I say it Derek McInnes working for Scotland part-time for peanuts would have done a much better job than this washed up waster
I really don’t care about the Scotland team just now but what his appointment continues to show is that the SFA etc just don’t give a F@ck how bad it looks . They don’t care!
And the press let them away with it !
It’s precisely the same mind set that doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks about them letting a criminal run Rangers , giving them a UEFA License this year they should never have ,letting Rangers players away with murder on the field etc. It is as bad as it has ever been .
I can see an outrageous Inverness Caley type hand ball incident happening again and very soon to stop a Celtic cup run and the ‘Hampdencrew’ just shrugging their shoulders
No ! a rather tragic McLeish isn’t the issue . A set of authorities who have one agenda and one alone are the issue .
They are utterly corrupt and shameless and do not care one iota for anything or anyone outside of their Hampden and Ibrox wheelhouse
... and as various posters and bloggers have intimated recently this is only going to get worse as Celtics dominance continues
Hampden should have been fumigated years ago when the EBTs were confirmed illegal .
I hope the CFC board decide enough is enough and have a real good go at the full crew out there and soon.

There is a terrific article put up by Numbersman on another thread '' Milne , Hampden .... '' well worth a read as it identifies the real culprits in the sorry EBT's ( and other ) saga . It points the blame squarely at the SFA who are the , supposed , guardians of the game and supposed to implement its rules fairly and equably .
Read it and weep !

Another cracking article today from same place on the tax schemes over ibrox way. As a bean counter I can tell you it’s on the money. https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1050373312327626752
I think this is the one that you mean. That same site has another post up on it now directly about the Scotland game, Feckless Eck and clearing out the SFA. Three belting articles in the last three days.

How can we even begin to call out anybody, when our own board do fuck all?

Any fire should be directed at them in all of the quoted wrongs. Until we do that then it’s a bit rich asking those who profit from their games to shoot themselves in the head.

The problem is our board are shitebags. From investing to standing their corner.

I know it’s gettibg near Christmas, but remember turkeys don’t vote for that either.

I don't think you can look at it just like that Theverdict. The situation is kind of like this. The SFA used to be full of self-serving blazers that looked out for each other and helped each other climb the greasy pole. Think Farry and Peat. The Clubs managed to set their differences aside long enough to wrestle a bit of power back from the old bowling club lot. Over time they played musical chairs on committees and who-sits-where-and-blocks-what to get to such a position that recently they (Clubs) finally managed to get their own man (Maxwell) into the top slot. Lawwell is a part of those games. So now the SFA is a mishmash of blazers and powerful club reps. Unfortunately the sheer number of little clubs (like the Cove Rangers you mention) mean the blazers will have the upper hand more often than they won't. Think like how Blatter was able to do the same with the little confeds at FIFA.

The real problem with this is two-fold:
Self-Interest: The Clubs are self-serving too (and only sometimes collectively). They will always act in their interests and not necessarily the best for Scottish football as a whole. The blazers will always claim that they fill that need and snaffle up the voices of all those little teams. The real issue with this from both ends is NEITHER THE BLAZERS NOR THE CLUBS ACTUALLY REPRESENT THE FANS OF SCOTTISH FOOTBALL AS A WHOLE WITHIN THE SFA.
Fan ownership: Scottish football doesn't have minimum requirements of fan ownership or board seats the way they do in say Germany or Argentina. As a result when Clubs act in their 'own interests' they are actually acting in shareholder interests which again aren't necessarily representative of the fans. Celtic especially bad on this compared with say Club 2012 or whatever they are called. Dermot owns a third of the club and more in special dividend paying pref shares. He calls the shots. WE NEED THE CLUBS TO ALSO BE REPRESENTATIVE OF THEIR FANS. That means minimum ownership quotas for fans.

Neither change to give fans a greater say in the game will be given to us. We need to take it.

I know all that. The question remains. Why not a peep?

Isn't it obvious? If it suits the major shareholders to act in fans interests then they will. If it doesn't they won't. Complaining unlikely to make a difference to a business decision. The way to change that is to control more of the shares and have a stronger voice.

And do you think if your assessment is correct, they will sell the golden goose to fans? That’s not how it works.

I have shares in Celtic as do a lot of fans. They aren’t the type that make you money, although that’s not why I bought them. They have it sewn up and you’re right, they care more for their own financial gain than they do moving us forward

Absolutely not. Unless rules are changed that make them like they have in Germany. To be fair even combining all those individual shareholdings into a communal trust would give more clout

I hate our board. Every time we have they bastards under our heel we stall. It drives me berserk even though it’s never a surprise.

When the lions were playing, they openly spoke of the Scotland Factor they were up against.

They knew that would be there regardless and they assumed the position that every single player had to contribute in goals irrespective of position and ideally all over the pitch.

Its up to our team to bang the goals in and reatin a cushion for the Scotland Factor.

We need to get ourselves together and remove the smirks from the SF coupons.

Some of ours have been found wanting and at times posted mia.

BR needs to counter the park the bus and also get back to more direct fast attacking football otherwise we are too slow n predictable.

Also i think the slower pace the game is, complacency comes in and its easy to lose concentration as its boring.

TJ, what you are saying is absolutely spot on, and eloquently put if I may say so. You are correct when you say that clubs acting in their own interests are generally representing actual shareholders interests and not in any way representative of the ordinary fan or even a small minority shareholders view.
Our problem then is how do we align shareholders fiscal interests with that of the ordinary Celtic fan ?
As you say TJ, we won't be given it so we have to take it. Only way this can be done is by using the only power we have. Our financial contribution to the Scottish game.
If we organise and let both the Celtic board and the Sfa know that no longer will we be taken for mugs, no longer will we shore up the finances of the rest of the league and that we will specifically target certain games, SFA tournaments and clubs for the withdrawal of our Green pound. I would suggest Hearts ,Aberdeen and Hibs as primary targets rather than Sevco , primarily because their boards would panic and capitulate quickest.
The only power we have is our financial contribution to the game. If we flex our muscles a bit then then I'm sure the largest shareholders will swiftly realise that their selfish interests need to be at least concomitant with the ordinary fans. Or , bottom line, they lose money.

Oh stop! [keep going! ]. Would love to see all the small shareholders combine their holdings into a supporters trust. The trust can give them a certificate to replace the share cert on the wall. Then can collect money a bit like The Rangers do by monthly subscription to buy shares when available. E.g. at some point Lawwells will probably be avaliablet and he's got a few hundred thousand already.

Ultimately moving towards a sort of Barça style members model even if it's not a majority stake in the medium terms
