Farewell and best of luck to PC Lustig

Probably a stand-off over the wages on any new deal? Lawwell will want to reduce his salary while Lustig wants the same again?
Mibi yeah. His contract might of had an extension on the same terms. Don't know how accurate it is but his wage was reported as 24kpw (1.248m per year)by the daily star ? 2016.
Malmos yearly wage budget has been reported as 10m 2017/18 from some guy on Reddit.
OK so my references are a bit suspect but you get the idea. Malmo won't be able to offer a celtic wage. If PL wasnt willing to trigger the extension but offer a much lower deal nearer a malmo offer then that could of been result.

Lustig was class for us. At his prime - 2013 - I honestly think he was one of the very best right-backs in the world. He was our best player in an otherwise disappointing European campaign that year. He continued to be good for a fair bit after that, but all those injuries definitely caught up with him in the last two years.

God bless, you āœŠ?

Suprised to see that Sweden do not have any right backs capable of commanding a place in their national team or is it simply someone is still capable of commanding the role.

Look at the times when the goals came, would think subs would have been required for ageing legs.

Thanks for the fantastic memories. His legs had obviously gone over the last couple of years, although he still did have some big moments despite this. I think he will be a bigger miss in the dressing room as he is obviously a big character and probably keeps people going. Sadly, all good things must come to an end and at least he is leaving on a high after securing an unprecedented treble treble. I suspect that he will return to Parkhead at some point in the future as a coach or similar. Cheers!

Hopefully he'll be back for the 10 in a row party

And he'll be replaced by whom for the CL qualifiers? Ralston's carrying an injury. Toejam's fucked-off and was useless anyway.

Criminal negligence in squad management with the first CL qualifier four weeks away. Finger out yer arse, Lawwell and get the incumbent player business at hand sorted first.
