On Reflection

The recruitment has been good, the only issue was the time taken. Had we got the players in earlier we would be 8n the champions league. Havi h stud that we look even better than we ever did under Rogers. The defence was something he was incapable of sorting. The main reason I was giving zero fucks when he left.

I love that for the first time in many years we have a defence. New territory., but loving it.

I can't wait to get Shitco at CP. We are going to destroy them.
It's how quickly players settle that's more important than getting them in, look at boli he has took a while same with julien but were seeing the best in them now

Rodgers fkd up 3 transfer windows Lenny and to some extent Lawwell have steadied the ship ,i was more chuffed we bought good youth players

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but i think Lenny is a better tactician and a better talent spotter than the Leicester Serpent and i thought that prior to the 🐍 slithering off. Man management was the part where Lenny concerned me but I think as he's aged he's improved at this.
🐍 Big talent is making people feel good with his special brand of BS, he did it with our players, our fans, he's now doing it with Leicester and that is good man management, but when it comes to buying talent or setting a team up for a difficult game, frankly he's pish!

We were playing PARTICK, bottom of the league PARTICK, just sacked their manager PARTICK. Not PSG. Lets not get carried away.FFS.
I think the point people are making, Brim, is that last couple of seasons, when playing shitty teams in cup competitions, we would have to play our 1st team players or young guys out of position. It's good that we can now bring in decent players in their correct position regardless of who we play.

That may be, Brimcbhoy. No one ever mistook Partick Thistle for Barca.

But let's not forget that while some of you during the transfer window were screaming in panic and running for the exits like your hair was on fire (how's that for a mixed metaphor?), the club went about its transfer business and brought in a raft of talented players -- apparently despite a lack of a scouting team of worth, according to reports (something that, if true, needs to be rectified, and quickly) -- that solidified the club for this season.

Anyone complaining now that we spent "only" 1.6 million on Hatem Elhamed when we could have spent a lot more on a lesser player?

Does anyone think that Christopher Jullien is not worth a 7 million, four-year deal?

Fraser Forster? Nothing to add there.

And you can continue down the list. Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo -- settling in nicely after a rocky start. Moritz Bauer -- contributed right off the bat and is solid in the backfield. Jeremie Frimpong -- also hit the ground running yesterday, and hopefully will continue his high quality of play.

We haven't even seen Greg Taylor yet.

There's also a good crop of players in the pipeline: Luca Connell, Jonathan Afolabi for starters.

So yeah, let's not get carried away. But let's also give credit where credit is due. We had a good window.

Absolutely agree, Weedocbhoy60.

The current squad is looking good. It is early days and I'm certainly not getting carried away but we have 2/3 players for every position and young players breathing down their necks. AndyBhoy said all summer and earlier even that we needed experienced footballers mixed in with the young 'project' talent. He was proven right. Now that we have that we are looking a genuine squad capable of performing over 4 trophies. I think what I like the most is not only do we have depth, within that depth a good few players can also shift position and fill in as and when required, especially evident in defence.
As TV said earlier it all happened too late with regards the Champions League qualifiers and as Larry said the scouting system looks like it also needed addressing. I still have limited faith we have genuine strategy in those areas. Gambling with Champions League qualification is becoming an annual occurence and our head of recruitment remains a temp post.
I hope Lennon can keep this squad together, add Wanyama in January and relieve himself of those he deems surplus to requirements. I'd then like this sqaud to stay together as much as is possible and have a crack at Champions league football. Lenny is well capable of competing at that level.
