On 67Hail hail forum ,article re Celtic and progressing in comp ,who should we be fearing ?and should we fear anyone really ,
My question bhoys/ghirls, what is your view on progressing in Europe .?
Do we want to ,is the. Money worth it ,do we try to win to get direct entry to CL, or concentrate on our main goal ,win league and try progressing to group stage that way,
The chance maybe of injury to players,do we have enough,quality cover ? If you read some comments on different Celtic forums their is a debate over that!!!!!!,sure it is good to take on an beat the cream of Europe ,there is a good chance in last 16 ,if we get there ,many of the more fancied teams are falling by the wayside ,true a lot of European teams don’t rate this comp,!,

Well apparently if we beat Copenhagen next week there is a more than decent chance that we will only have to play one qualifier to reach the CL Group Stage, and even if we lose that we will be in the EL Group stages next season.

So although 9 is my main priority then by extension 10 , I still feel we are light at the back to reach Gdansk, it would be wonderful if we can beat Copenhagen and hold on to our 10 point lead over the mankies.

So after Thursday and hopefully a win, league is my priority then the quadruple treble, then the quadruple of trophies this season. 🏆🏆🏆🏆

TBH is reaching last 16 the new success or is it the road to further progress, i believed that in football you play in tournaments to win them, so if thats not possible, then by that nature the tournament is either rigged or there are teams that will never be beaten, that statement, never be beaten, i do not believe for we have beaten so called giants and we were a giant, therefore our aim is not to reach a stage but to win it.

Can remember well the great runs ,starting with 66/67 under big jock ,the year we won in Lisbon ,unfortunately next season due to what I call cock up by eufa, when we where to get a bye as champions got beat by I think Red Star !!!!!!! First round ,just one of those things ,United went on to win ,but years up to 71 when we lost to Feyenoord,was good games ,we faced the best and had good wins,always got to quarter finals mostly if I remember ?hh

Dynamo Kiev in 68 I thought. First time the European champions had to play in the first round, previous yrs winners always got a bye..

As far as progressing goes, nearly losing to Copenhagen away does not instill me with confidence that defensively we are up for that. Abject failure once again to spend money on a good CB has left us with relying on Ajer who has lost form, Jozo and his quaver knees and always injured and Bitton who gives his all, but isn't of the calibre I feel progressing requires.

In Europe we rely on Julien making up for the weaknesses beside him and that is something everyone apart from Lawell thought would be a problem. Julien could have been injured for weeks with that head knock and where would we have been there?

You need ambition to progress and we have none. Another CB was not a luxury in January, it was a necessity but yet again we did fuck all and that utter bollocks is the main reason I think our defence will ensure progressing is harder than it needed to be. Lawells Hail Mary strategy will once again fuck us up in trying to move up a level. Right now our defence is weak when you look at who we could meet. On the bright side though I'm sure the money in n the bank will ensure Lawell gets his bumper reward yet again for fuck all.

Yes,point I was also trying to make re quality of players req.?if we make last 16 would be a bonus,but do we have the quality to see us getting further , all due respect to copenhagen,but they run us through the ringer sort off!!like you felt a little let down with signings,but winter window not the best time at all,hh

I would prefer Ray to have a fully fit squad for the last third of our domestic games.
We are going for something 99% of clubs could only dream about, 12 domestic trophy,s iar..
Could we win the Europa Cup,,it is possible but looking at the teams still involved it would be very very difficult,personally I would settle for all the domestic trophy,s ..
