The King has abdicated.

So the virus will get the blame for sevco goin down the stank , wizny our fawt the virus came n we couldny pay nae cnt '' you've got to hand it to the shameless shyster he's found an out ,but he's also in a country when the virus hits will not be the safest place in the world and the banks are locking things down

looks like jelly n ice cream will overtake bog roll in the stockpiling

It's like pass the parcel. The one in charge when the club goes but get blamed for it. Wages will not be paid in full on the 29th and thus contracts will be broken. Next week will be very interesting.
But because of Covid-19 there will probably be several clubs in the Premier League who go bust so the authorities will say we can't possibly send them all downwards as it wasn't their fault, so they will get away with it.

Sorry Nick66 I posted a thread n the subject after this one. Wasn't paying attention. Something smells even more rancid down there. I know he said he was going to stand down but in the current global climate I though he would hang on until things stabilised. Is Park the only possible final hope of getting cash to try and buy time for any miracle?
No apologies needed POD. Probably got it at same time and I pushed post 2 secs early. You're right though something is afoot in the land of Zombies, Dave has a masterplan, for Dave,.

Thanks Nick 66. I agree King looking after
King. Unfortunately Coronavirus will open opportunities for shysters like him in underdeveloped economies under pressure.
He has the history of, and the credentials for, shamelessly and illegally expoiting exactly this scenario.
Down Govan way, I am inclining towards the view that he may have been pushed. I have no evidence to base this on other than gut feeling and viewing their previous operating tactics.
I think it could well be a clearing of the decks with the focus now on keeping the corpse alive for their 150th anniversary.
This will be the new selling point for season ticket renewals with maybe early deposit scheme put in place to get cash flow in. Also a push on the corporates to support the same.
Hence public faces like Park and Bennett are vital rather than the cold shouldered King.
This refocus will also be sold to the hordes as an antidote to our TIAR. And they will buy into it just for the bragging rights of reaching 150 years.
The big, big issue is Ashley and the wages of the top earners. Likely outcome would be a downsizing of the operation for now. Though unpalatable, this would be more preferable than death and realistically can be sold to the gullible as a world beating achievement of reaching150 years.
At those celebrations King will be rolled out as the Saviour and can soak up the plaudits.
Meanwhile in the East End, looking forward to TIAR.
Be safe all.

Was King forced out to allow the sevvies access to government funding to help pay some of the wages throughout the Covid19 crisis?
in light of the "cold shoulder", would HMRC, DWP, or any of the financial organisations contracted to run the government scheme, be willing to work with a pariah like King?
It's either that or he has seen the bottom of his war chest and realised that he has to pass the baton quickly because the fat lady has started to sing and the music is about to stop.

I can't pretend to understand how the corporate world works. As a low income earner, it looks pretty corrupt from root to branch and it seems to have an uncanny knack of protecting it's own.

I don't know what the future holds for that mob. I hope it's full of suffering and pain, but I don't think any last one of them has it in them to change.

It's not just that they believe they are entitled, it's the fact that they believe that everyone else is obligated to service that entitlement.

One of the best ways to try and get a gauge on this is to put ourselves in their shoes. What would we do if this was happening at our club?

Our club almost went to the wall and we were nudged along the way by the legless wonder and his loyal pack of press hounds. No tears would have been shed and that glorious history would have been confined to some dead letter office.

What would they have done?

I genuinely feel that, in spite of our deep-rooted love for our club, if Celtic were known and seen to be systematically and historically cheating, then tens of thousands of good Tims would cease their support of the club financially and perhaps pledge their allegiance to a junior club or a senior club local to their residence.

There is no glory in cheating. There is no glory in feeling and acting entitled. There is no glory in having a friendly association and media pandering to your every whim.

Celtic are a powerful force within Scottish football, but that is in spite of the association and media, certainly not because of it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I would have serious reservations about supporting a club who willingly screws people over (including their own) just for a bit of silverware and bragging rights.

In this time of national crisis, we will oft hear the cry of: "you get the leadership you deserve". The leadership of this country will likely be responsible for many people needlessly losing their lives. The leadership of that weird weird football club will likely be responsible for putting another club to a needless death.

My hear goes out to the human suffering caused by Covid-19. Not a tear of sympathy will be shed when the bad ship hunitania goes down.

2162 is a long time away for them to be thinking about their 150 year anniversary
