Green brigade banner

That's not the point it's the banner in front of the stadium that is wholly wrong, there are procedures and targets , reviews etc to get rid of neil Lennon if required. It's not up to the green brigade unless I missed something overnight they are a small minority of Celtic ultras that do a lot of good. This act has done a lot of harm , the fallout is potentially much more dangerous than losing the ten , we are fighting to keep or get best value for or players how exactly does that banner help anyone connected to celtic? No if it helps anyone its those across govan way. Ill thought out and Ill advised action when especially there are no names even In the pipeline bar WGS and he'll be looking at the banner thinking 'do I want to do as Neil did , step in save the title and then if as lennon says the main stars want out so they go , do I want to be the next pariah? No he wont fancy that who would? This makes things worse not better and I'm ashamed of it myself
An excellent appendix to your first post Winter ๐Ÿ€ ๐Ÿ€ ๐Ÿ€

I must admit I am entirely conflicted on all of this.

Did I appreciate Lenny's efforts and contribution to a huge amount of success as a player/captain? Absolutely. Was I happy with the league titles we won in his first stint as manager? Yes. Was I disappointed in several poor showings in the cups? Yes. Was I ecstatic when he managed us to the greatest glory I've witnessed when our depleted team beat Barca on our 125th birthday - you better believe it.

Was I happy when he stepped in to help deliver us another treble after Rodgers sneaked out? Yes. Did I want him to be made manager on a permanent basis? Not really. Did he prove me wrong by delivering us history last season? Yes.

Am I happy with the often dire performances this season? No. Am I happy with some poor results in Europe this season? No. Am I happy with us getting dominated by sevco during the last few meetings? Definitely no. Do I want Lenny to guide us to even greater history this season? Yes. Do I think Lenny is capable of delivering even greater history this season? Possibly not. Do I want a new manager next season? Yes.

Do I think that the GB have a right to express their opinion in this way? Yes, as they cannot show their dissatisfaction in stadiums after games. Do I like the GB expressing their opinion in this way? Absolutely not.

Will I still consider Lenny to be a Celtic legend after this season no matter if he guides us to failure? Yes.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there is a lot of complex feelings going on for me just now. I really want Neil to manage us to success, but at the moment I have doubts as to whether or not he is capable of pulling things back, but I hope I am so very wrong.
A good, honest and realistic post that I agree with. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

For all the good the green brigade do I am shocked to see that banner on the front steps of paradise this morning. Lenny should get the chance to put things right he deserves it. You can say that the clubs bigger than a person or persons and youd be right it is. Neil lennon is a different story though, I'm not saying hes bigger than the club , course not but he certainly deserves better than this. I feel ashamed to have witnessed that against one of our most legendary figures in our complete history. People arent bigger than the club they ARE the club all of us together and to me this is an appalling act by the green brigade against a man who has suffered more than most in the cause for Celtic FC. The hatred , the bullets in the post now from our own a very public slap down, the kind I'd expect from across the city. Its disgraceful, distasteful and totally the wrong way to go about it. I dont claim to know exactly how to go about it, thankfully I don't work for the club or the betterment of 6 or 7 million supporters worldwide feel good factor but I know that this isnt the way. I feel it with every fibre that is wrong and it sends out the wrong message in a big way, bottles are crashing around Celtic park. Doesnt everyone know it if they didn't already. If that banner simply said "winter no longer welcome here" it would break my heart for ever, Neil Lennon? Neil Lennon is a person who has served us with great distinction and above. The green brigade dont speak for me with that banner I'd hope that the majority of the Celtic family condemns this as not the Celtic way. โ˜˜
The green brigade can go and take a fuck to themselves if it was them that did it, there is right things to do and wrong things to do and all they did was make a wee stance to seek attention, look we were first to stand up, the ones who took part are nothing but wankers. Must have got away from school early and then phoned the media.

I will ask 3simple questions

1) would you like to see lenny replaced?
My answer yes

2)would you sign an one line petition asking for his removal?
My answer, would never put my name against turning my back on one of our own.

3) Do you have any confidence in this board in there discision making?
My answer, none whatsoever to the degree that they may be taking us for eegits

Overall very disappointed at how things have panned out so far, but all the while I have breath in my body I will never give up on the fight against scum has not been lost yet
๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€I love this good forum where we can all kick the can about and express our views mostly with good natured respect toward one another and I've always been consistent in my view of Lenny ( 1st AND 2nd time around ), Like most of us I admire and respect him as a great Celt and a decent committed and passionate manager but I have NEVER had faith in his ability as a tactician but I can't see the sense in replacing him mid season as I do not think any manager new to this league AND these special circumstances could cope ( I still think WGS would be the only person capable of coping with the burden if it WAS to happen ) so I'd be a no but Oh the absolute shame of that GB banner ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€ Thanks for the good post John

Well said Boab - Absolutely shamed us ๐Ÿ€

We all need to hold fire till the 2nd of January as I believe it could be the 2nd biggest game in our history some can even argue the biggest
By then how many more points will we be behind them? Looks to me they may be in a position by then to dismiss a defeat to us. Let's face it. We've been there.
Not agreed with everything the Green Brigade have done but in this case I'm with them. The board don't give a shit about our opinions on forums etc. It's out of sight unless you wish to read. One things for sure, the message got through today hence the coverage it's getting.
As for sevco followers loving it, i don't give a shit what they think or say. Some have said "we don't do this to one of our own". So why is Lenny not doing the honourable thing and walking to save our season? He's doing it to us. He's being selfish.

I respect your opinion Steviebhoy2 but can't on the timing when it don't truly reflect on how we all feel about this situation
We still have to keep the faith as supporters, a public outcry has hardly helped our cause imo

IF it was the Green Brigade who were responsible for this banner, then all of the goodwill and praise they have received over the years for their outstanding contribution to society and to the team, will be diluted with one inappropriate gesture.

The lads and lasses representing the Green Brigade can argue all day that the board aren't invested in the best interests of the club, but IF they are responsible for this work, then they become the very thing that they rebel against.

They are not acting in the best interests of the club.

This is not a one man problem, yet it seems fair game for one man to be held responsible for all that's gone wrong.

Lenny has made some terrible decisions. His team selections are often head-scratchers. His tactics appear ineffective. His use of the squad is bemusing, but for all these issues - there are boys pulling on a jersey who just haven't played to the standards they have previously set.

If they have downed tools for whatever reason - then they should never be privileged enough to pull on a Celtic shirt again.

They don't play for Lennon - They play for Celtic. Their duty is not to a man in a tracksuit, their duty is to the fans who pay their handsome wages.

We win together, we lose together. One man does not make a team, one man does not break a team either.

I tell you what - if the players don't come out tomorrow all huns blazing fighting for their manager, their fans and themselves, after today's stunt then we will know for definite that Lenny has lost the dressing room. This should be just the incentive needed to ram those words down their throats (as if a huge salary, personal pride and a competitive drive shouldn't already be enough). I'm sure as hell if I was NFL then they would be fired up and ready to run through brick walls for me when they entered the pitch.

He obviously believes in himself Stevie,I wish I believed in him also but unfortunately I dont.
I listened to his press conference today and although we did not see the vultures circling we heard their snide comments. He does himself no favours sometimes when replying to their questions,3 times since Sunday I have heard him say,,two years ago we had a worse start to the season than this, which is fine, but what he needs to remember sevco were not 11 points clear of us,irrelevant of the 2 games in hand,we need to win them before we can say we are 5 points behind..
