I would just like to wish Shane Duffy all the best and thank him for his efforts in his short stay with us.
No doubt we will never hear the real reasons that things didn't work for him but I was genuinely sorry
that it went the way that it day. HH Shane and good luck for the future.

Hard one to call came in as a stop gap in season of turmoil and managed to take out his central defending partner and it all went down hill all the way from then on ,his showings were poor and i believe his epl wages put quite a few players noses out of place

we don't know all the goings on behind the scenes and none of the players come out of this season looking good

wish him well , the loss of his father would have had a big impact on him then throw in our freak show , am sure it's something he'll tell his grandweans in years to come

Must admit I feel so sorry for Duffers and how things went for him this season and now his career in tatters.
Will claim his main ambition was to come to us and honour his father who died before the start of the season and help to deliver the 10.
That burden of pressure was to great to carry along with such an unpleasant changing room.
Can't see how many of his team mates could have made him feel very welcome when possibly being paid so much more money than others within the changing room.
Confidence is huge in football and when your own turn upon you so quickly it was always going to be to big of a burden to carry.
Can only hope he can still salvage some sort of career for himself now, which will be tough as he never ever let himself down for Ireland in the manner he did for his boyhood hero's, sad

The trouble was not just his, the system and coaching were also to blame. He made a few errors then tried to overcompensate and tried too hard, it would have been worse if there had been fans in the ground. Ridiculous loan deal.
Sorry brincbhoy but made perfect sense at the time with a squad assembled to play 3 at the back with him central and ajer left and Jules right with the wing backs, but was to never pan out that way.

I meant 2m for a one season loan. I've never been a fan of 3 at the back either.
Agreed the 2m loan fee was very poor business as it turned out.
Would be a fan of the 3 myself when played properly and allows for much better flexibility if you haven't got full back's that can't deliver any quality going forward or defending imo

Another one like joey Barton, think they can come up here to a “pish” Scottish league and walk it, soon found out it’s not so easy up here, his confidence shattered, away back down to Brighton with his tail between his legs.

Huns giving him tons of abuse online, mainly because of the norn iron Derry connection, to all the lurking huns, he was here for a season, and left with a medal, most of your team has been there for 3-4 years with only the COVID training league medal to show for it.

There will be fans back in the stadium’s next season, full houses probably, we will get behind our team, faithful through and through......huns can get back to abusing their team and everyone else that crosses their path

He was on very good money and didn't deliver but he seemed at times to be troubled so can sympathise to an extent.
Typical of the sort of season we were having that a crucial position was filled with damaged goods.

He may well have been Tony but definitely no worse than any of the rest of the Celtic team this season. Good luck to him also he was made a scapegoat when everything else was turning to shit on the field and off it.
😤🍀 HH
Agree Jimmy, theres a couple who were worse ,ye woyldnae even know they were on the pitch ,you probably know who i mean .HH

Even though Shane Duffy made mistakes you knew he cared about his performance's and he cared for the Club, there where players who where played week in week out and didn't give a f.ck about the team or the Club.
Anyhow roll on next season !!
HH

With most epl players that end up in scotland they have a vision and impression that it's a bunch of muck savages running about muddy fields kicking lumps out of each other in some cases thier probably right.but big duffy is a celtic he knew the score he's definitely not of the joey Barton make up.Shane duffy would say himself he had a bit of a nightmare up at celtic this season I can't find one player who didn't. I'm sure big duffy will be back at paradise one day soon sitting in the stands of the club he loves he gets it hail hail Shane duffy.
