Thought I'd throw this in having seen a similar poll for Jack Hendry. Was astounded to read this morning that johnston has now racked up 59 appearances in the hoops. I agree with "wheres ra burds" that hes too lightweight and against the rangers pushed off the ball too easily. He has talent but is he really Celtic first team quality? Right now , probably aye but next season? Those 59 appearances mustve passed me by. 2017 his 1st appearance. For me hes a luxury player who does well in a winning fluent Celtic side. When the coin flips hes nowhere yet still came on before Griffiths and ajetti at the bigotdome and that had me spitting fire at the telly ( sorry telly) I think we should punt .

Keep. Give him a chance to play in his natural position. Build his confidence....stop with all the "he's to light weight" crap, seriously!! Most of you on here were lucky enough to see Jinky play!! He was on top form before his injury. Cutting in, skinning people and getting the odd goal. Then lenny shames him for having to come of injured. All the bhoy did was try to play through pain like he's watched forrest, Brown and Tierney be forced to do. On top of that he's been chucked on as a striker for fuck sake. Let him get back up to form under a new, better coaching system and we have a player there 100%....

Shouldn't even be a debate imho, Keep and if get his confidence back he will be a handful for most teams.
I hope am wrong but I don't see it. he's been around the first team for a few years now without having any great impact / or even really getting a run of games. 59 appearances (hope @Winter's numbers are correct) over 4 years. Gives me the 'he gets better the less he plays' feeling.

I voted keep, it was a v strange decision by JK to bring him on ahead of Griff recently, especially on his return from injury, but we dont see want happens in training. He has talent, but is he a team player? Doesn't use his team mates often enough and whilst we love to see a player dribble its pointless unless he ultimately either scores or sets up at least a scoring opportunity. Give him till January to impress the new manager.

I think the position we now find ourselves in winter it would be madness to think of punting the younger players like Mikey and hendry just yet.
We have to nearly rebuild a whole new squad for next season and don't think we have that luxury to do so with the amount of players required.
The more experienced players with the likes of Rogic, griff and Bitton etc who I believe have no longer got anything to offer to improve the team so don't see the sence of keeping them.
The younger experienced players like ntcham, boli, Christie etc seem to have developed such a bad attitude that I don't see the sense of keeping hold of either.
For the likes of Johnstone, hendry, Luca, Henderson etc now is the time to either step up next season or move on. May be only squad players but with a proper management and coaching team put in place will give us these answers next season, so believe it would be to early to punt them just yet.
As for Johnstone, I still think with the amount of games he has missed a decent run of games is required as still a long way short of being an automatic starter still.
Hope we can get in players where we could loan him out until Christmas and see what he has got to offer from there if anything when we take him back.
A huge season ahead for some of these younger players ahead and weather they can really make it at the club and deserve to be given the opportunity to see if they can hit the heights required, as just getting rid increases the amount of players required as there will also be mistakes made in the transfer market as there always is, just we have made far to many of late and hoping with PL traitor out of the door that this improves dramatically.

Keep for me its a shame hes been out injured so long the coaching staff (whoever that will be)shud concentrate on bulking the bhoy up a wee bit just enuf to hold defenders off him better....hes a talented bhoy now its time for him to be brought on and for him to knuckle down and progress his game...wee guy cud be an absolute star with us if he wants it HH

Griffiths might buck his ideas up when the new manager comes in ,mind him saying Rodgers told him stay in shape or youre out the team ,he did that but unfortunately for him we had Eddy and Rodgers always played 1 up front ,surely on his last legs now.
Big Rogic another ,good player on his day but needs to be starting games.
Wee Christie well id get shot of him ,good at hide n seek but .
Jack Hendry probably deserves a chance but whole different ball game playing for Celtic ..looked like the shirt was too much for him but no any worse than Duffy and look at the wages he was on 🙈

Are we going to go through the whole team and development squad with this punt or keep?

It'll be down to the new gaffer...............................whenever he appears!
Just highlights the amount of work a whole new management and coaching team are facing shammy.
Criminal to think we find ourselves in such a position with the amount of new players needed, never seen the likes of it before and hope never to see again.

It's a sad state of affairs that threads like these have originated. 🤷‍♀️

Agreed shammy. Young talented players who haven't been coached properly or even been given a proper chance due to piss poor coaching and Lawwells eagerness to buy players with exotic names from far off places to punt for a profit. Johnstone and dembele would be 1st team players in any other team in scotland now. Instead they have barely kicked a ball, haven't lived up to their potential and now being written off by some of the best fans in the world through absolutely no fault of their own.

Just been such a lazy attitude from management when why bother to develop young players when a loan system has been in place to abuse Lubos.
This situation was caused by PL traitor in his ambition to restart a new "old firm" brand imo and left us in the current mess we are currently in.

Many of our players were the same ones that helped win the QuadTreble but under Lenny's management and poor coaching we had to watch them seriously regress but you don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

I was raging when we lost the league to Confetti F.C. and wanted all the players booted out the door but when all is said and done they ain't all bad. I only hope the new manager and D.O.F. take the time to get to know and understand what their dealing with.

Now if you were to ask JK keep or punt or Strachan keep or punt that would probably elicit more replies.

They both have to be punted shammy if we want to be serious about a rebuild as both seen to have nothing to offer either
