What's Really Going On?

I don't know where folk are getting the idea that the club weren't backing Ange. Have a look at the amount of players he brought in, many of them are worth millions now.

I don't get the feeling it was PL this time. Money changes people and skews their moral compass.
I think you're right,we can't blame the board this time.We don't know if Ange knocked back a longer contract or if one was offered&we may never know

Don’t think so…..the show must go on…
Agreed, not when there's money to be made
Celtic's presence and the lucrative marketing money to be had
Bigger worldwide fan base, who have disposable income to spare
For the board it's a business, what they lose on the swings, they gain on the roundabout, for us it's a way of life
Whoever gets the job, he's going to have to win over the fans, and that's always a tough ask given the state of the game in Scotland, and who runs the SFA

How can you say we can't blame the board, then state that we don't know what went on behind closed doors
Our board have form for this kind of thing
You're right on the 'we may never know' though, what happens in the boardroom, stays in the boardroom, until the season ticket money is in
I'll wait and see what comes out in the wash, after all the rumours and conjecture are finished

I think the board tried their hardest to keep him.
But they went for Eddie Howe and he fucked off to Newcastle so it's not really in the realms of possibility that Ange went to spurs.

We all move on and fast. I just don't want Kewell.

The season has ended and our manager has been offered a huge pay rise to improve Spurs. He is gone and that's sad but life goes on. Will our board pick an old name or a new name? They will do what is cheap. Kjetil Knutsen would be my pick. Manager of Bodo/Glimpt

Isn’t he on a percentage of any player sales at Bodo which earns him quite a bit on top of his normal contract payment? If that’s right I can’t see our custodians agreeing to this at Celtic.

I agree though, that he would be a good choice…

Theren is no old firm, the term is merley a marketing ploy and a figment of our boards and the huns state of mind. Celtic fans know what liquidation means and we witnessed the death of the huns and the end of the old firm tag, the tag is simply a company house registered name.

You are of course correct Boab.

But I can't help but feel there's something in the secret 5 way agreement that is potentially detrimental to Celtic and very beneficial to the Huns.....something Dave King was only too smugly pleased to intimate to a wee while ago when he said something along the lines of "he'd be quite happy to see CAS get involved"

There's something in that nefarious agreement that gives the Huns a get out of jail card I reckon.....and our custodians are more than likely aware of it.....is that is why Peter Lawwell stated he hasn't seen it?...

I expect our board will think of a manager that can win the league. We fans want a manager that will win in Europe. There lies the problem
I get what your saying... But we cant just take the league for granted.. In a one off season I'd maybe overlook the league for a European final /trophy, but the league is our bread and butter and its what the fans pay circa £600 quid each season for, let alone the cost of going to games outwith the entry fee... So yeah league first and foremost should be on our boards thoughts when employing a manager... Secondly backing him with a squad that can go deep enough in European tournaments would or really should be a consideration... But... Well we all know the next sentence..

Leagues are won by playing and winning 38 games That’s against the referee as well. Our current squad will be raided and the board will take the money. Cheapskates

The structure of UEFA competition changes after this coming year….. we will need to win the league again this coming year to maximum our income from it…..our custodians will be well aware of this, so their main priority will be us winning the league…

Our sponsorship relies on success on the park, there is no way our board will lie down to the huns to have an old firm guarenteed. Anyone that thinks success is beating that mob is not seeing a bigger picture, Celtic will evolve without or without our rivals, business is business and in business things can change quickly. The fans will not accept a mediocre performance and will quickly smell a stink if one is created, we have had two outstanding managers one without the huns at strength and one with the huns at full strength going all in, so we will only accept a similiar type of manager with a proven record or next seasons end will change dramatically if nothing is achieved, we do not accept false messiahs and will not accept second hand failures rocking up to take a wage and line the boards pockets.
