Daniel Sturridge

Yeah, I know it's the bookies, but the Scottish football media once again promote fantasy stories about Sevco and pretty much every player looking to move (remember how they were going to sign Lallana in January?). So now it's Daniel Sturridge. A man who was on a whopping £120,000-per-week at Liverpool. So is there any veracity to all these bookmakers slashing the odds on Sturridge to Sevco? About as much veracity as Mourinho to Celtic (Mourinho was leading the bookie's race to become our new manager for a good few weeks, iirc). I found this little story about Sturridge's seemingly very early negotiations with Fenerbahce. It would take any proper journalist in Scotland about 2 minutes to see that far from Sevco and their monopoly money, he's looking for approximately over £70,000-per-week from Fener. I assume that stands for all potential suitors.

Here's the story:

Listen I don't want to burst anyone's bubble here and you know I'm not one to name drop but I've got a mate who works for the Daily Mail in London. He used to back in the day work for BBC Scotland too and he says this story is actually factua…………

ah who am I kidding mwahahahahaha this has to one of the funniest yet. If this was actually true you'd have to think not only are the building their own coffins at Murray Park but they are now starting the 6 foot dig!

Sorry, I was unable to reply to comments on this for a while. But sorted now ;)

Yep, it's all bollocks. I remember watching the football show hosted by Peter Martin. Barry Ferguson was on it. It was January. Sevco had just signed Davis and Defoe. Martin brought up some daft rumour about Lallana to Sevco, but Ferguson said he could realistically see it happening, given the signing of the 54-year-old Davis and the 73-year-old Defoe. It's not just that the media are foolish on these questions, but they reflect the mass hysteria of the Sevco fanbase. The great collective delusion.
