Having a scan through the thread and seen this.
Dark or neglect it still adds up.
Places like Japan had very low mortality because of all the steps taken.
Putting aside the morbid nature of the topic the £ numbers rack up.
In the uk just under 30k more residents died than expected over the first 23 weeks of the pandemic.
65% attributed directly to covid. A further say 10k didn't but there wasnt as much testing done as there should of been so the report concluded that the 20k was "hugely underestimated".
As of early Feb around 50k have it listed as cause or contributing.

If your going really dark on it then add up what a yearly state pension would of been for all of these people. Contributions to care costs if they were eligible. Prescriptions and any other NHS or general gov paid costs.
The numbers quickly become astronomical.

Not accusing of a deliberate genocide here but these "mistakes" have saved the gov hundreds of millions per year 😡

This is a topic that needs serious scrutiny.....if the facts were to support this it would surely be a crime against humanity...

Only in an idependant Scotland could you conduct an investigation free from bias to investigate anything, for it is only then that they would have to, as we would have the right to vote any party out of office. In a Union, you will never find clear waters only mud. N Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Westminster the dice is loaded in favour of the latter.

We had data at hand from places that were weeks ahead of our own curve.
So therefore an idea of how the virus was hitting certian age groups.
I didnt go as far as saying "intentional neglect"
"Mistakes" I did highlight as I believe the word too light and throwaway.
The on going pressures of the pandemic have allowed the sheer numbers of all deaths to slip under the radar with only brief scrutiny. Much like our total death figures as so much of the focus is on the here an now.

Catastrophic levels of neglect and sitting on hands imo aided these numbers and as of yet nobody has been held accountable.

Westminster waited on several occasions not to lockdown till London was under the cosh. That seemed to be the only trigger on each occasion.

Telling people to stay away but keeping businesses open.
Telling people to be cautious but introducing eat out to help out to jam people into places 3 days out of 7.
Curfews 6 and 10pm to concentrate people in venues and subsequently public transport home.
Many businesses were pushing blue light card and nhs discounts, my company included...

Back to the carehome point though.
Several were woefully under equipped at the beginning.
Transfers of hospital patients untested into vulnerable environments has to be the number one as it has resulted in the highest loss of life.
Will it be properly dissected and the decision makers reviewed?

Depends who is likley to go under the bus.
Too many nations have similar situations to ours but that doesnt mean serious enquiries shouldn't take place.

There is now enough statistical data to review and at least estimate where we could of been to where we are now.
The senior decision makers and the timeline of counter actions has to be brought into it.

The woman behind the Alex Salmond plot, Leslie Evans is a civil servant employed by Westminster. She regularly attends UK cabinet meetings.
After a jury ruled she was a liar her contract was extended.

Catherine Calderwood (that cunt that accidentally visited her holiday home (twice) during lockdown 1) was a gynaecologist but deemed suitable to manage public health during a respiratory infection pandemic! 🤷‍♂️
