While we are all having a laugh at the appointment of Russell Martin to manage a pish Rangers team I would remind ourselves that the pish Rangers team took 7 points off us and came close to winning the League cup last season . Martin won the English championship with a threadbare Southampton side two seasons ago.
What I did not realise is that the average age of this Huns team of Kelly, Sterling, Soutar, N'Siala Yilmaz, Barron, Raskin, Diomande, Cerny, Igamine and Cortes is about 23 ( I thought many of them were veterans ) and with The addition of Cameron ( a cracker ) from Dundee and Hagi and Rice etc they will continue to mature as a team and were more than good enough to panic us last season and while I would love to see us do well in Europe the prize we must win above all others is the SPL title and I believe we will have to fight all the way for it 🍀🍀🍀

I don't care if it was Russell Harty they brought in, we should never sit back and take our foot off of the gas. We should strive to constantly improve on the pitch irrespective of what your rivals are doing. This cost us 10IAR (along with dodgy Covid testing in Belfast and an incredible run of vital Tavpens and red cards against opponents while stonewall pens against sevco were blatantly ignored).

The fans can have a laugh about their latest manager, but our club should never ever underestimate the challenge from other clubs.

They all laughed at Ange too. The sevvies thought they had it in the bag when Ange was appointed. I’m not gonna make that mistake. I will wait and see what develops before ripping the piss oot o Russel Martin.
Having said that I wish them and Martin nothing that’s good.

Brendan Rodgers is a professional manager, one of the best. He knows how to motivate our squad. His aim is to win the next match. The next match. Every match. Do that and we are the champions. One match at a time
I believe BR will push us forwards. He will not forget that we only get into the CL through winning our own domestic league. Changes this summer will (should) make us stronger. A strong Celtic squad will be favourites for the SPL. We WILL keep our eye on the prize.

If they sign (Reg) Vardy their average age will bump up to about 33, mind you he might go back to selling cars.

I agree with you Doc, our board will shell out enough to make sure we qualify for the champs lge . They would not want to miss out on those riches
This makes sense to you or me Mik…spend £15-20m reach CL and make £35-40m. However this is our board we are discussing. They are more interested in spending £5m and pocketing the £30m.

I'm pretty sure I read that Hagi is leaving the klub.

A team who ran over the top of us in the League cup final which we managed to win in pens and at Ibrox they ran out 3-0 winners the warning signs were there and we were told lessons had been learned but we kept doing the same things so either never learned or were too complacent or arrogant to learn. Since the turn of the year the team were very up and down was the system failing as teams learned to nullify it or were the players tired and switched of to an extent these problems need sorted or we are in real danger of watching a season of up and down performances.

I had the same thoughts. I don’t know how many times we heard from Brendan, Cal and others about how lessons had been learned and we would be ready for the next game against them. And then we went out and put in the same abject performance every time.
I couldn’t help but think all this talk was just bravado or spin because it sure didn’t look like we learned anything or were up for anything. It’s always better to say nothing and do your talking on the pitch than open your mouth and look like an idiot afterwards.
If we put up the same performances against them next season we might not be as lucky as this season where they had so many poor results against the other teams. I don’t know if they can be that bad again.

They got themselves up a level against us and we didn't know how to change it to combat the style they adopted might be a different style of play this season with the new head coach in place so they might still falter a bit as we might if we aren't able to adapt to the style of defending we come up against week after week.
