Can't say I agree with the notion that KT should be sold because he "hasn't been 100% for some time and it might be months before he is again." He deserves the chance to regain fitness and cement his place in history. What kind of message is that to send to a player sidelined by injury?
I do agree that "no player is subjected to the rough housing he is". "Rough housing', try physical attack. Shouldn't Celtic be doing more to protect their players rather than shipping them off and sending a message of encouragement to the hammer throwers?
Celtic don't need to sell KT to finance Lenny's ambitions. The money is already there and CL qualification would bring in more than £25 million. Who can say how much of a KT transfer fee would be reinvested in the squad anyway.
KT is a Celtic fan and I don't think his fellow fans should be attempting to influence him to leave but rather using their influence to encourage the club to better protect their assets.

It’s the opinion of one guy. Who happens write for a blog. Why do people put greater weight on an opinion just because of that?

Most of what we read is either guessing or an opinion. Means fuck all. He’s entitled to it, but I would argue having KT for the latter qualifying rounds and securing £60m+ in the CL is worth a look at.

£25m isn’t a good price. It’s nowhere near what’s he’s worth. If the board sell him atvthat, even if he wants to go, then that to me would be a mistake. It weakens us and ours far more money at risk.

If he has a good season in Europe for us having brought in quality then his price will rise. I think it’s a short term option that seems good, but actually isn’t.

It's what he does with his opinion in this case which I take issue with. He's flat out telling KT to leave. KT is a fan and is likely to have exposure to fan media such as the article. I don't think Celtic fans should be acting as, what I consider to be, negative-influencers in KT's decision process.

Given the injuries he has I don't think it's linked to any hammer throwing. I'd look closer to home for the responsibility there. As for KT. Once the board accept a bid I'd like the yay or nay to lie solely with the player.

Good point in regard to current injury; that again is a case of the club not adequately protecting their assets. At least there appears to be solid backup in place now. The club should now be offering an improved contract with a more realistic release clause.

I think he'll want 10iar before he goes anywhere. Just my opinion, even tho I don't have a blog to call my own.

Worth a repost I think.

Kieran Tierney - An exceptional 22 year old talent who's been a first team mainstay since 2015 has 4 League Titles, 3 Scottish Cups, 3 League Cups, Champions League and Europa League experience to his name......£20m.

Aaron Wan Bissaka - Talented player with just over 1 year of first team football at Crystal Palace to his name, won fuck all......£50m.

That ^ says it all mate! They (EPL) started this transfer fee madness so they can reap what they've fucking sown. Arsenal should be told to fuck right off with their derisory £20m offer and told to only come back if they can start showing both KT and Celtic some respect. No more of this 'wee Scotland' mentality when it comes to dealing with these arrogant c*nts!

Spot on. £25m isn't even close to being enough if the Wan Bissaka deal is where the EPL market is currently at.

I wouldn't be happy to see KT leave but I would accept it if that's what the bhoy wanted and the fee reflected the current EPL going rate for a player of his quality BUT if he was to go for the £25m being reported then I'd be fucking raging tbh as we would be selling one of our top prospects and our future captain to a club that was reportedly willing to pay the same fee for an 18 year old with ZERO first team experience only last week.

That £25m figure is clearly not based on the individual's actual talent but where he displays that talent, once again this has more to do with the 'Scottish Cringe' where we allow ourselves to be easy pickings because of some pathetic inferiority complex! Time we got a fucking grip!

And I think we can blame both parties for that.
25 million is the figure allegedly that was agreed when KT signed his contract and that Celtic would accept to start negotiations and that agent and player would then be allowed to talk to the party who made the offer.
Comes from last years Everton bids I believe. I'd say if that's what was agreed we can't renege now.

I wouldn't even use The Celtic FC blog as toilet tissue..all and arguments it makes can easily be drowned with suitable and sustainable arguements. The blog is a soap box for the weak hearted Celtic fan. How can you build a team without KT and CalMac when they are the "team". That dude blocked me out of the Celtic FC blog a few years ago..either come out with a good opinion or sit in the dark.

Aye agreed Niall, as I said the 'Scottish Cringe' at it's worst and the likes of Arsenal capitalising from that sense of inferiority.

If Wan Bissaka is a £50m player and Arsenal were willing to pay £25m for some French kid who hasn't kicked a baw for ANY first team then we damn well can renege on it......last year's market is not this year's market, what you got for £25m last year is not the same as what you get for £25m this year, market prices fluctuate and the football market is no different!

Bit of a radical change of heart since this morning or more a case of first blog was knee-jerk
reaction to shite and the second an attempt to undo the damage somewhat.

Blocked you? Seriously? There is no way i'd ever see you as abusive unless you go mental on vodka while online. That smacks of if you disagree you're out. hmmm quite the 'socialist'. I think not

Unless you'd agreed

Aye we might have agreed with KT that if a bid of £25m came in then the club might listen that doesn't necessarily mean the club agreed to sell at that price, would be dependent on all sorts of other things like payment structure, sell on fees etc. so nothing has been agreed till everything has been agreed.

He simply didn't like my views matey..nothing more and nothing less. I can't just can't fathom the lads material..it's bananas..it's not strategical or informative and doesn't provide a balanced argument..it's all me, me, me
