Lewis Morgan is an early contender for the Breakthrough Player of the Season, Neil Lennon clearly rates him very highly indeed. Expect him to keep his starting place tomorrow...

Anyone else at that Scottish Cup win against Morton in March 2018? It was a small crowd who saw Celtic win 3-0 and this there are the only ones who can claim to have seen Marvin Compper play for Celtic!

:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Good article, Niall. It's foolish to even think we should part with Jozo.

Niall, totally agree with your sentiments about Jozo. I really like him but he is certainly not perfect. Needs to cut out the brain farts but mostly good for us. I certainly wouldn't dream of selling him at the moment, especially for a crappy £5mil offer - we'd need to pay much more to get someone of the same quality and then hope they settle in our country and into our team.

I'm hoping Ajer will partner Jullien as CBs but we need good backups to rotate in on a regular basis to avoid burn out and stess-injuries over such a long season.

Now Big Joso is the prime candidate for Fisiani's psychotherapeutic approach.

There is solid gold in there but it often looks like lead because of his momentary lapses in reason and concentration.

A bit of work between the ears and there is potential for that boy to go right to the top.

He has all the physical attributes, he just lacks a bit of the mental steel to see games out without a catastrophe or two.

I believe that Lenny (with the addition of big Mjallby) can iron out these wrinkles and make this lad a genuine superstar.

Totally agree he'll play a lot this season. There is a LOT more to come from him. We may however have to expect a mental moment or two along the way..Much like talking about Boruc. Sometimes that crazy streak is a price worth paying.

Interesting Ajer has droped in Kennedy's name as having some one on one work. May be that Jozo is getting it too. I think he's still only 24 and he's never really managed a full season due to injury, suspension and a lack of real trust from Rodgers. His peak will come in next 2 to 3 seasons. Hopefully that much needed concentration and decision making will also come with a lengthy period of game time the experience and confidence that brings and trust from a manager.

Jozo did a good job of keeping his head in Bosnia and against Sarajevo in general. We all saw the physical abuse meted out and I can only imagine how much aggro and verbal abuse Jozo would have had to endure. Hopefully the experience will stand to him in the future.

Before that game I actually advocated leaving him out and risking Jullien for that very reason. I needn't have worried, he handled it impeccably. Wrong again!

I think many of us were thinking the same. But it seems that the more pressure he is under, the better he plays (ignore the ridiculous red card for the "elbow" in the Glasgow derby as that was nowt compared with the shite going on during the rest of the game).

It seems that it is when there is less pressure he gets caught out, so possibly sports psychology would really help him.

Gutsy decision by Lenny to play both Jozo and Nir in Bosnia. He had belief in his men and sent them out mentally prepared. Well played all round.
A classic example of where us sofa experts would have criticised the decision for being such an obvious mistake if it had gone wrong and he had lost the head and done something stupid. I am definitely including myself in this know-all group of "experts".

This is what makes good managers stand out as they actually have to deal with the consequences of these massive decisions, whereas we just go to our beds, roll over and fart (well i do anyway).

Me too!

Jozo came onto his game at the end of the season. I really like him but he is prone to basic errors at times. He has the jersey right now and therefore it’s up to him to ensure he keeps it. What Lenny has to do is cover his own arse if his firm dips by have quality cover to come in. This will also help those with a jersey all over the pitch realise that unlike last year, we will have someone breathing down their necks.

We lost two CB’s, we need two to come in. If Hatem is the right back then that’s one to come. If Simpson is right back then we still need back up for that. And if KT does leave the another left back too.

It’s frustrating for us, but it must be doing Lenny’s head in more, because it’s his arse on the line. Hopefully a few players are lined up. If we go for another striker and an attacking midfielder, there’s plenty to be done.

Cifuentes rumour is gaining momentum, but I can’t see why a player with such ability would come to Scotland. I got sent this this morning which some of you will have seen. The boy looks class, so here’s hoping. But not too much as I just can’t see it. Self protection in full force.

Cifuentes looks a player, this is exactly the type we need.
Looks like the Israeli right back/Centre back is a done deal now. Hopefully we're moving in the right direction. Still need that first choice right back though. I'd hope this lad is back up given he seems chosen for versatility that than a specialist in the position.

Love the piece on Sutton niall J and couldn't agree more . I was one who wanted a different manager from lenny but like the rest of us I'm 1000% behind him. This nonsense of "reporting " on a few Twitter posts is no more than lazy journalism. There's no guarantee they are even genuine Celtic supporters at all. Same thing with the express reporting on some Twitter posts "Celtic fans calling for lennys head " because we conceded first in Sarajevo, ridiculous. That side probably the toughest opposition we could've faced at that stage 5-2 a great result and performance over 2 legs v hammer throwers that put hearts and Aberdeen to shame. Power to you mt for calling it out.??

Not so sure I agree with you here, Niall. There's an significant element of truth to what Chris Sutton is saying. Over the past few months, I've seen way too many really, really stupid takes on social media -- primarily on Twitter and the plethora of Celtic-based Facebook groups (including purportedly the Green Brigade's Facebook page, surprisingly, which I no longer follow because of the nonsense).

It's more than just "a few Twitter posts." The Facebook pages especially are rife with batshit nonsense, and whether it's just faux fans sowing the seeds of dissent is another issue. I've locked horns with several -- no, scores and possibly hundreds -- of people over the last few months who, well, let's just say think less of Lenny than I do and have absolutely no basis for their criticism other than he's not the manager they wanted.

What the hell kind of supporters are these, if they're even supporters at all?

work permit easy to get

won't be shipped out on loan

easier route to the EPL

maybe were helping city group out

or maybe just maybe he has seen how Moussa got on a

he got his big bucks move in the end

Don't know much about him only rumours it was between us and city group which makes it a wee bit suspicious
