It is totally on the mark. The Higgins appointment is about nothing other than business opportunism for Dermot Desmond. Celtic are simply the vehicle that can enhance it.

Polarify? Appropriately named since he has polarised the Celtic support on one side and his board on the other. You'd think he makes enough money out of the club and has enough money already to not need this greed.

So it looks like DD wants to use our fan base as guinea pigs for facial recognition? If this is true the Club is moving further and further away from the one I love. We need to get DD out of our club.

We're human beings, not a data harvest. Do you think it will stop there? Of course not.
I'm well into the 2nd half of my life but its the young that will bear the brunt of this surveillance society. The things we took for granted they will never know. It won't be long before we're getting 'chipped' at birth.
In my lifetime Football has gone from being the most popular sport of the ordinary working man, to a business for the rich to play with, to now the next stage, a vast rich potential stream of data to be mined.
God help us, they're taking the fun out of everything.

Great article Niall J and certainly one that couldn't be dismissed either.
We are very much living in a Big Brother society and has been getting more intense as each year passes now, such is this techno world we live in, so why wouldn't football matches be the best experiment to really test new technology?
More annoyed still by the actions of a few arseholes on Thursday can call upon the increased call for such potential technology to be used.
I personally was disgusted to see our supporters throwing missiles at oppersition players like many of our support was.
This could lead to players leaving the field of play which could be a real reality especially when the real scum infest our ground in January.
Such individuals aren't and never will be accepted within our support and wouldn't welcome such individuals within Celtic Park.
So if such technology was to be used against such individuals then makes it far harder to complain against it as such, especially when it gives the board extra power to promote a unwanted individual to actually be able to enforce it as such.
The GB have fucked themselves up big time and need to get there own house in order before it can start making claims against an individual when it still seems they have far worse within there own ranks still and no wonder they need to be targeted as they have let down so many, who were prepared to give them the support that this issue warrented.
A spectacular own goal imo that has set us backwards on this whole issue

Thankfully Everton pumped the cheats but it all started by one idiot in our support throwing a wee vodka bottle onto the pitch. And it didn't end there, the next season our punishment was a game behind closed doors. We draw with Atletico Madrid in the first leg in Spain then lost the match at Celtic Park where we had no fans there. One idiot effectively knocked Celtic out of Europe TWICE.

I'm sure Turnbull was pelted with all sorts of missiles and coins at our earlier meeting with the Ibrox club this season, at every corner in fact.

Interesting theory but ….
If Higgins was going to be involved he would be employed by the technology company with Celtic and Police Scotland potential customers. Why would Celtic employ him?
Celtic could end this speculation in a simple statement but are letting it drag on.
