FIFA Club World Cup

Laughed this morning after reading that Chelsea played in front of 21,000 in a 70,000 capacity stadium.
A 3pm ko doesn't suggest the greatest of planning has gone into this expanded tourney. 9-5 ! 9-5! Doh!
Haven't watched any games yet though I'm sure the fitba' withdrawals will drive me to it at some stage, thankfully that stage wasn't the Bayern 10-0 game.
A result that suggests to me this expanded newest bestest version ever isn't all that and in future will see sides dropped in favour of other non achiever /runners ups/ but still extra minted types.

The way clubs qualify is unclear at best, with the continental governing bodies using a 4 year performance rating except UEFA who are using...their own script, unlike UEFA..not.

Salzburg, I should say Red Bull Salzburg have qualified because they qualified for the ko stage of the CL for the first time season 21/22 , that along with Arsenal's elimination from the 23/24 CL means Red Bull Salzburg qualified for the WCC, ( source Wikipedia/tinterweb) hmm OK but really? Ok, but Red Bull nothing to do with it or UEFAs choosing their own qualy criteria that's different from all the others? Hmm OK...nah sorry EUFA can't see past the Red Bull logo here.
Still , carry on.

I’m not saying we would fill stadiums but they missed a trick not inviting clubs with big traditional fan bases (not sure that’s the correct word 😂
Nearly impossible for teams like Celtic to get in that tournament and it’s a shame as our fanbase in America is strong and would be good to gain new fans too
Wonder where all these millions of Chelsea fans are hiding 😂😂😂 it’s easy to be a so called fan when laying in your bed following a football team on twitter
…stats don’t lie but we have had bigger crowds for friendlies in America then most games in this tournament

When you consider the cost of a farcical club world cup were only each comtinents richest clubs compete.
The cost of a world club cup exhibition with the worlds elite attendance clubs take part, it would cost less to organise , fill every stadium and be far more interesting reminding many that football isn't just about cash it's about fans and history not of the inter MiamI/Beckham type but many big clubs financially may be against clubs like Red Star outnumbering Chelsea fans 100-1.
If Chelsea even qualified on that criteria, it would be a true celebration of the best clubs we've ever seen.

I’m glad we didn’t get invited because Liewell would have bit FIFAs hands off for the extra dosh plus a massive jolly for the board and wives, regardless of the fact the players would get no rest between seasons
