Finances in Scottish Football

St. Mirren CEO Tony Fitzpatrick has stated again that he looks forward to the day when Celtic only gets 200 tickets for the games in paisley, surely our answer as a club to his statement is to only request 200 tickets for these games. For too long our club has been treated like a cash machine by the other teams in the spfl. Is it not time for our club to stand up for ourselves. We are not asking for everyone to bow down to us, we only ask for a level playing field. Too many of the other clubs stay silent, especially when the mib are openly biased in favour of the club from Ibrokes, yet they are very vocal if it is Celtic who get a seemingly favourable decision. These clubs are only too happy to take the money but are reluctant to help make changes that could benefit the whole of Scottish football, but then we don't know if this is through fear, greed or collusion. Perhaps this is a question for supporters groups to challenge the boards of the clubs they follow. HH

Having read todays blog by James Forrest, I feel he has missed the point of the average fans annoyance at Fitzpatricks remarks, yes we understand the dependance of the game on Celtics fans money we know what that cash means to some of the clubs, what we're annoyed at is the fact that in general as a club we are interested in the improvement of Scottish football as this would be good for us too, unlike the club from Ibrokes who want to burn Scottish football to the ground in some nihilistic form of revenge at thier perceived insult by the fans of other clubs. So yes it would be nice if clubs could fill their own grounds and this could be possible if our game was not mired in racist bias where your heritage and religion was immaterial and all that mattered was your skill as a player. So for me, Mr Forrest missed the point of the annoyance. HH
