Griffiths

These players are, in the main, kids with little or no sense of personal responsibility. By making it a condition of employment you remove the need for them to be 'sensible'. Fines are not likely to result in anything but a fight with players union.
Remember, common sense is not common.
seems like an infringement of their rights to me.

id prefer a capped wage system with a benfit account that grows with every minute they play on pitch that they can access when they retire from game. And a fine system that detracts from their benefits everytime they do something that damages their clubs reputation.

you get set wage
thats capped to keep them humble but a growing retirement package that grows in line with their onfield selections and awards

that way you will mostly get hard working players who dont benefit from taking the piss or being stupid off the pitch

I think another thing that is an issue with players is that, even nowadays, they still have far too much time on their hands once they finish work.

That was exacerbated in Sparky's case due to his enforced leave of absence and he strikes me as being the type who doesn't have a particularly long attention span.

When you have that amount of time to yourself and access to a significant pot of money, that's when you're likely to fall prey to gambling, booze, class C's, B's and A's and young girls trying a wee bit too hard to get some of that limited attention span.

I'm not suggesting that they should become enslaved, but an extra hour or two working on fitness, tactics and ball skills might stop some of them from exercising their pastimes so rigorously.

Deckchairs.... Titanic?

She's a 15yo child, he's a 30yo man asking a wee lassie for pics. It's not doing something daft as folk on here are saying. It is morally repugnant!

Ps the onus is on him to check her age, she is a child and he is an adult. Stop victim blaming

Im shocked people in here are going out trying to downplay his deed. Check wee lad Moffy, 19 years old, has his Instagram set on private and on twitter he only retweets the club. The kid has his head screwed on more regarding social media engagement then Griffiths has, a father of five in his 30s

He’s now a stalker according to the headline on the Sunday Mail today. Wtf.
They really are going after him with all guns blazing just in case the last accusation didn’t stick so down the stalker route and Celtic FC firmly in their sights.

Let them roast him. He deserves it. Celtic FC is gaining huge attention in Australia (and Japan). Last thing we want with this renewed international image is the perception of sexual deviants being involved in the club. I’m not saying that Celtic needs to change its identity or values for the sake of potential new foreign fans, but his action is bang out of order and indefensible.

I'm not at the stage where I'm quite ready to put up a solid defence for Griff, but I will say that it wasn't so long ago that the red tops used topless teenage girls on page 3 to try and gain an audience.

I didn't see them having too many objections with young girls displaying their charms when it benefited their profit margins.

The Sun ran a series of wee articles on Charlotte Church when she was about to turn 16 along the lines of: "5 days until she's legal" and so forth.

I don't buy the papers at all, but I'm prepared to bet that on any given day, there are still quite a few provocative shots of young women in their beachwear or underwear scattered through the rags.

Hardly a stable moral barometer, Rose

A blame global warming /central heating and double glazing in ma days aburds wore the standard cardi , 2 jumpers ,blouse, slip ,simmet and that was before you got to the enigma of a bra , and if she had a duffle coat you were fkd not even a radiation blast could get through

Nowadays every ones in there kecks
……………

Any truth that you had a seat at the crucifixion?…

Not a single word about this stalking in the National newspaper today so make of that what you like.
Just another wee sidenote: there was a sports journalist in Dundee employed by DC Thomson who often frequented a lap-dancing club apparently in the interests of 'research'.

That boy was known to throw tenners around in there like they were hun shares while he was seemingly working on finding out who the local footballers were who were interested in a different type of 'two up top' formation.

Pretty sure he's probably the editor by now!!!

Celtic star Leigh Griffiths accused of stalking next-door neighbour and taking pics of her and family

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has been accused of stalking his next-door neighbour.

Mum-of-two Jennifer McLeish has told police that the ex-Scotland star has been secretly filming and photographing her and her family.

Griffiths is already facing police investigations into “inappropriate” messages he sent to girls, including a 15-year-old, via social media.

Cosmetic nurse Jennifer, who lives in the house next to the Parkhead star in the upmarket village of Bothwell in Lanarkshire, is understood to have told officers she believes the footballer has been spying on her on behalf of a third party.

The 35-year-old is the daughter of multi-millionaire railway tycoon Alan McLeish, 61, who last year invested £1million in Rangers.

Jennifer has consulted lawyers to obtain an interdict to prevent Griffiths from being near her or contacting her. She also last week lodged a complaint with Celtic over the player’s alleged behaviour.

The allegations come only months after her £500,000 home was deliberately set on fire, forcing the family to flee in the middle of the night.

Jennifer, who has daughters aged 13 and seven, also shut down her beauty and cosmetics business in Dennistoun, Glasgow, after it was targeted in a ram-raid.

A source said: “Jennifer is a young mum looking after two daughters on her own.

“One of the girls is a teenager and is much more aware of what is going on around her than her younger sister.

“Jennifer is very protective of her family and was sickened when she was told Griffiths had been spying on her for other people.

“She can’t understand why anyone would do that, especially when her daughters had to run out of the house in the middle of the night during a fire. Jennifer has tried to be neighbourly with Griffiths so this information came as a huge shock.”

Celtic sent Griffiths home from their training camp in Wales last week over claims he sent messages to a schoolgirl while the club “looked into the matter”.

He now faces another internal investigation over his conduct, which sources say could result in his contract being terminated.

The source added: “Jennifer contacted Celtic and has given them a statement. They appear to be taking her claims seriously.

The police have also met her and promised to investigate.

“But Jennifer is so worried that she has already spoken to lawyers about getting an interdict which prevents Griffiths being anywhere near her or her family.

“She has been on high alert about people around her since the fire and believes Griffiths’ alleged behaviour is a threat to her.”

Last December, Jennifer shut the doors on her House of Aesthetics beauty business – which specialised in botox, lashes and other cosmetic procedures – after the shop was ram-raided.

The attack came a month after her home was firebombed.

Her £70,000 Range Rover was blown up by a petrol bomb, which then set fire to the roof of her house and she was forced to flee the property.

Jennifer is believed to have confronted Griffiths’ dental nurse partner Caitlyn Melville over the claims the striker had been filming her from his home.

Caitlyn, 28, is believed to have denied father-of-five Griffiths had been taking photos but added: “It wouldn’t be illegal if he was.”

Griffiths had been dating Caitlyn for two years before they moved into the house next to Jennifer, which boasts a sprawling garden emblazoned with LG 9.

Jennifer’s dad Alan is one of Scotland’s wealthiest men. The businessman sold railway contractor firm QTS, based in Strathaven, Lanarkshire, for £80million in 2018.

He had set up the firm with a £300 loan from his mum Anne. Jennifer’s stepmum Phyllis, who split from Alan, sits on the board of Kilmarnock FC.

Police have yet to make arrests following last year’s attacks on Jennifer’s home and business.

Police last week visited the home of the girl Griffiths is accused of messaging on Instagram and took a statement to establish if any laws had been broken.

In one Instagram message the 30-year-old allegedly called the schoolgirl “ya cutie”.

He also sent her camera emojis.

She said: “What do you mean? x.”

Griffiths then replied: “Have a think to it n get back to me x.”

The player, who has just signed a one-year deal at Celtic following the arrival of new manager Ange Postecoglou, could not be contacted for comment yesterday.

Jennifer refused to comment.

Police Scotland said: “Following a report to police, inquiries were carried out and no criminality has been established at this time. Advice was given to the reporter.”

Griffiths’ agent Tam Byrne said he wouldn’t comment.

Celtic declined to comment.

Now I will put up a defence for Griff.

The first part of that article is indicative of how the Scottish media works and you will become more familiar with that as your association with Celtic develops.

An unsubstantiated piece without any corroborating or compelling evidence provided by a resident in the orange heartlands of Lanarkshire.

That story doesn't need a pinch of salt, it needs the sodium contents of the Dead Sea to be believed.

There's much to be said for free press and free speech, but this is an example of where random allegations without foundation are an obscenity to that fundamental right.

Another example of the rancid daily record printing rumours as fact, the club NEED TO take them on, make a stand, BAN all SMSM journalists

there is an “anti Celtic “ biased outlook in the SMSM, it used to bubble away just under the surface, now they don’t even pretend….
GET THEM ALL BANNED…….🍀
