We have won 9iar and now the most momentous season in half a century awaits. Will we win the coveted 10 in a row? The never before achieved Decima.
We have the best first team squad and some cracking reserve players. The foreign based players will arrive at Celtic Park soon and training begins. No one knows what has happened to the transfer market. It is certainly not the same. Some basic economic rules persist however, Supply and demand. Every club world wide is cash deprived and wants to cut costs. So many players are out of contract very soon so the supply of available players will be greater. No one knows when football with fans will return. It is thus a buyers market. We are both vulnerable and opportunistic. I hope our scouts are on the hunt for teams who are desperate to sell good players. I'd be looking particularly in Eastern Europe, South America and Africa for rising talent. We have a squad that can win the Decima but perhaps in these troubled times we should aim for a CL Group stage place . That means securing a goalkeeper. Southampton might sell FF. We could be raided by the English and Eddie, Calum and Ajer could be gone by August if the papers are right. But imagine losing Frimpong, Rogic, Christie, Dembele and maybe half a dozen more. That is the huge risk to achieving the Decima. Klimala and Bayo have not set the heather on fire but could still come good. Griff is not enough up front. I vacillate between huge optimism and pessimism that some unforeseen problem will deny us the 10.
