Happy Summer Solstice Bhoys and Ghirls

Another day of wankers, talking shite.

Thomson, Young and McFadden stating the league could have continued. There is no possibility this could have happened, for a start players would not be ready and time would have been too rushed, you would have had to have allowed negotiations in contract extensions, sufficient time to get players ready to play games and the season would have ran over into October, some clubs are not even full training yet due to the price of testing, clubs needed to end the season and furlough their staff as quick as which effectively meant that players had to attend to their own fitness and would not be allowed anywhere near their club or be classed still working.

These pundits are thinking that because Celtic for example are now taking government advice on training that they could now begin the old season, utter pish. We had 8 games and two cup games perhaps if we had got to a final, and then straight into Europe and a new season.

The biggest problem is players could have told the clubs they were with come the season end official month, we are not extending due to lockdown, so were would that leave clubs who need to replace players and negotiate new deals whilst uncertainties there was simply no money in the SPFL with the exception of a few clubs, unfortunately all clubs make up the numbers and if the games were commenced with no money coming in then more resources would be eaten up as for every game the pitches would need maintained and testing carried out.

it could have continued but some cnt dug up there own pitch

There are some genuine practical issues with regards to testing. Forfar Athletic released a statement where they have said that they estimate that it will cost them £100K for the testing this season and it would take 6 hours to test the staff, which is longer than most part-time teams get togethet to train each week. Full time teams with much bigger squads will cost a lot more!

Teams are going to have to fund this extra expense at the same time as they are experiencing a huge drop in income - not just loss of matchday revenue but no fan fundraisers, corporate sponsorship will drop due to companies having less spare cash, etc.
