Huns are facing a top level probe after playing as many as 9 1st team players in a bounce game 4-1 humping against Dundee Utd with out getting necessary COVID-19 test results, Hampden top brass held a 2hr crisis meeting on Thursday and have demanded a full explanation of events, SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell warned that any high profile breaches will have “catastrophic “ consequences for the game in this country as it works with the government to re-start the game on Aug 1st
As we know “rules” don’t apply the servco, looks like they are doing their utmost to savage our 10IAR season, possible outcomes including fines for each player without a test results or a 14 day ban.....

Hope they get fined to fuck and even better hope the G fella gets it prick

What a shock - they still think rules do not apply to them, even when they are potentially risking people's lives.

What I don't understand is why the SFA didn't buy several of these testing kits and havee them strategically placed around the country (e.g. in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness). Their priority would be to test that area's footballers in a timely manner, but they can also any spare capacity to test others for extra revenue and for kudos for supporting the communities.

If these kits cost £30K and Celtic & Ross County bought them, then they must be easy enough for their medically trained employees to use so there doesn't appear to be a requirement for specialist lab techs, so this is not a reason why the SFA couldn't have implemented this. By spreading the costs like this across all clubs, it would have resulted in a much cost effective solution overall than each club buying their own kits (or not, as it turns out) and ensures that football can resume - and then continue - as efficiently and safely as possible.

Then again, this would have needed someone running our national sport to take some decisive action and earn their high salaries.

Rangers are facing a top level SFA probe over fears the club broke coronavirustesting protocol

Hampden top brass suspect as many as nine of Steven Gerrard’s first team squad played in a bounce match against Dundee United without having been given the mandatory all clear by medics.

SFA stand in president Mike Mulraney was alerted to the developing situation on Wednesday night and it’s believed he has demanded the Ibrox club are asked for a full explanation of the events.

The potential rule break was discussed as a matter of urgency on Thursday afternoon at a crisis meeting of the Covid-19 Joint Response Group which lasted almost two hours.

Motherwell will also be asked why their test results were not returned until just two hours before kick-off at Ibrox - while Hibs are facing similar questions from the beaks over Saturday’s late cancellation of a friendly against Ross County.

It’s believed the Rangers anomaly came to the attention of the authorities after Gerrard’s side had to delay a pre-season friendly against the Fir Park side by two hours - from the scheduled 6pm kick-off time to 8pm - while both clubs waited for their latest batch of test results to come through.

But the re-arranged time was a full seven hours after a Rangers B team took on at United behind closed doors at their Auchenhowie training base.

Nine of the players who featured in that match had been part of Gerrard’s squad for last week’s mini-tournament in Lyon - Andy Firth, Calvin Bassey, Greg Stewart, Jordan Jones, Glenn Middleton, Ross McCrorie, Greg Docherty and youngsters Nathan Patterson and Lewis Mayo.

It’s believed the entire travelling party did undergo testing On Tuesday after returning home following their 2-0 win over Nice on Saturday night.

But a backlog at the laboratory meant the results did not arrive back at Ibrox until around 7pm on Wednesday night. Motherwell’s squad was also affected by the same delay with their results coming back shortly before 6pm - more than 50 hours after Stephen Robinson and his players had been swabbed on Monday.

It was only then that were finally allowed to make their way to Glasgow’s south side to take part in the match which Rangers won 4-0.

The strict testing protocol was put in place by the Joint Response Group in order to secure government approval for a safe return to training and playing for all 12 top flight clubs.

SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell also warned the Premiership that any high profile breaches could have ‘catastrophic’ consequences for the game in this country as it works with Holyrood towards a re-start on August 1.

And the latest dramatic twists have sparked fears the First Minister could even U-turn on the decision to give allow top flight to begin on August 1.

In a letter to the clubs Maxwell wrote: “There will be enhanced media attention on squads as training gets underway and the behaviour of all of our players and staff will be under scrutiny.

“We have been able to negotiate a dispensation for Premiership first team squads to return however all involved should be under no illusions that breaches of the agreed parameters will lead to the Scottish Government removing our exemption, having a catastrophic impact on our game.

"Please ensure all staff and players are reminded of their responsibilities on an ongoing basis.”

In this day and age Clubs should have their own testing facilities, although would you trust the huns to tell the truth with theirs?.

Perhaps SFA/Spl joint testing facility would be best.

We all know the huns would rather the world came to an end than Celtic win the Big X, so more scrutiny of each individual clubs testing should be implemented immediately.

It's a Vatican conspiracy, have ye ever noticed that Covid and Vatican have the exact same letters? 19 is exactly what the Feinians want, 9 in a row plus 10 in a row = 19 in a row. Covid 19. There ye have it definitive proof. How are the Chapel at the SFA gonna explain this? WATP

Above the law, treat rules with distain, ignore advice, treat others with contempt,if one of thier players test positive it will effect everyone who was in the stadium,Austria have deducted Linz 6 points for the same offence and hit thier changes of winning thier league, will the SFA AND SPL take action??????? Don't hold you breath I for one would be very surprised just look what the done with Kent ignore it till it goes away
