Ok guys, your thoughts........ Will Daizen be oor new Henrik..

If he stays with us for next season and a few seasons more, IMO I think he will only get better, and could score as many goals as Henrik, and also as many assists....

Or, he could be sold for at least 30 million ...Anyway, I've cloned them, so he has to stay now....;)

Naw. Daizen is a fantastic player but he isn't near the level that Henrik was. He could - and did - walk into massive European superpowers and improve them (turned the tide in a Champions League final for Barca and was lauded by Man U players even though he was well past his prime).

We had some incredible players at Celtic over the years, but I'm not sure we will keep a player like Henrik for more than a couple of years if we ever find anyone of his calibre again.

I hope Celtic are currently going all out to try to extend Maeda's contract on better terms so that he realises how much he is loved and wanted at Celtic to try to stop him being tempted to leave. He has become so important to us in recent months.

But not the new Henrik for me, pal.

Henrik is out there on his own Lennono...his name is well known across world football as he was most definitely world class at the highest level.
He truly was and remains the magnificent 7 and will be loved and cherished forevermore in Celtic folklore.

Without doubt Daizen is a unique enigma and worthy of great recognition ....there is no one like him in world fitba that's for sure with his workrate, closing down opponents , adaptability with no shortage of skill and sheer teamwork ethic.

Both are/were tremendous professionals with humility and first class attitudes everything you would want from a Celtic player.
We have been privileged to watch them both in the glorious Green & White hoops that's for sure.

Hopefully he continues his current form for many years wearing hoops. Larsson was probably best all round striker Ive witnessed at Celtic. Daizen has attributes that are very valuable for us. But I still think Larsson was in a higher grade of technical ability.
Why does he need to be the new Henrik?
Daizen Maeda is his own man, and if he is around long enough, and he keeps improving continues to be first name on the team sheet, then I have no doubt that he can emulate Henrik's status and adulation.
Larsson was played mostly as striker in a 2 prong attack, whereas it's taken Maeda almost 2 and a half seasons to secure a regular starting berth as main striker, and even now he regularly has to revert to his wide role part way through games to accomodate Idah.
He's a regular fixture for Japan as striker, whereas when Kyogo was around he was predominantly played on the wing. Which begs the question ... was he being played out of position by Japan, or out of position by Celtic to accomodate Kyogo?
As things stand Celtic's most pressing issue is to tie up Maeda on a long term deal HH🍀
