I personally don't trust many within the SNP. I don't trust Scottish Labour either.

However, you can see how the press are framing Jeremy Corbyn. Comparing him with Stalin killing Kulaks reflects that Johnson, Farage and Trump fear that this insignificant individual could prevent them collectively making money. (Incidentally google Bullingdon boys to see that black and white photo of Cameron, Johnson and other Government privileged individuals in their youth - it's a photo that captures who they are more than any narrative).

Politics has never been so exposed for its absolute greed and dishonesty. Groucho Marx said 'Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies'.

Anyway, my first post was with a Glenlivet fuelled passion, trying to generate enthusiastic debate, tonight I am on the tea and politics appear quite depressing.

I'm all for you trying to generate some enthusiastic debate Goldfinch and I know we can all get a bit carried away after a few halves but you made a pretty incendiary accusation in your original post......

'SNP in the 1930's - Scottish jobs for Scottish Citizens - Irish go back to Ireland.'

Like I said in my reply to you mate I can't find a single reference or quote anywhere that backs up any part of that claim so given that this statement makes the pretty damning and dangerous accusation that the SNP at some point in their history held anti-Irish views and given the impact such a claim could have on the voting intentions of some people on here then I think you either need to back that statement up with some evidence or retract it.

I'm genuinely not having a go at you Goldfinch but I think it's really important that if we're going to debate these things properly on here then it should be fact based debate and not based on making unfounded allegations simply because we don't like certain politicians or political parties. There are things the SNP can be legitimately criticised for but this from what I can see isn't one of them.(y)

If you can post some verifiable evidence to back up the claim you made then I'll happily apologise but if you can't then I think you should retract it.

For the record I agree with you in regard to how the right wing UK media portrays Corbyn. They've done nothing but try to destroy the man's character with every nasty trick in their arsenal since he became Labour leader, that's been clear as day but I'll also say this......that very same UK/SMS media have been doing the exact same thing to Sturgeon, the SNP and those who support an Independent Scotland.

Corbyn at least has the left-wing media/press fighting his corner and challenging the lies being spun about him but the entire UK media/press is pro-Union and gets to say pretty much whatever it likes about Sturgeon, the SNP and Independence supporters. There is one solitary newspaper that is pro-Indy (The National) and even they're owned by the same company that owns large swathes of that same pro-Unionist media. Corbyn and Labour are not the only ones who get unfair press.

Scotland will never shake the vampire's grip while there is a gallon of oil in her territorial waters.
Independence once the younger generation come through on their insistence on non carbon products, ie electric cars etc, then we will be oil dependant free, more people wakening up to the climate change and begin to think about the future generations,

General election 2019: Labour pledges free broadband for all
To have a figure on this they claim 20Billion, now if they can work this out then they must know how many houses they will apply fibre optic to, would it not be better to take the homeless figures and work out how to spend the 20 Billion making sure everyone first has a home, what use is broadband to a homeless person, and tbh the broadband is so that Governments and businesses can get us away from cash turning us into a cashless society, where all trading will be online. So how do the homeless survive in a cashless society if they have no means of communication, bank accounts or fixed addresses. Thats right foodbanks and hand me downs. Fuck your broadband anyway the more on it the fucking slower it gets thats why it called the super highway, once the lanes are full your fucked just like at the Kingston bridge in rush hour..
Close down local shops turn us into corporate supernmarket purchasers online.

Yesterdays stv news Nicola this is the most important election ever

Right after the news SNP election broadcast ,,,this snowflake fuzzy Scotland shite

,,,,,,they never learn

Tonight Labours turn although it was bad it stated all the basics that are a concern
This to me looks like a party political broadcast for an IndyRef NOT a General Election! It's devoid of the very thing this GE is going to be about......Brexit!

See this is the problem with the SNP Kelly instead of just hammering home the facts about the realities of what Brexit Britain is going to mean, how Westminster has shown itself unfit to govern and how they think it would be the best thing for Scotland and it's people not to be part of either we instead get this 'c'mon Scotland look how nice and cuddly we are, wouldn't it be braw if all us nice cuddly people were in charge instead!'

It's toothless fluff that completely misses the fucking target, so many things they could have said in that 3 mins but instead chose to go with this vomit inducing pish! 🤮

Ffs if they want Independence to actually happen they better get it together!

Well said Boab (y)

People and their kids are going hungry and living in abject poverty. Disabled people are being treated like unwanted burdens. Thousands are living destitute. Thousands more are being denied life saving drugs, medical care and basic human dignity due to a deliberately underfunded NHS. The system is systematically cutting us off from accessing and controlling our own earnings by turning them into nothing but digits on a screen. And politicians are banging on about spending billions on super-duper speedy broadband 😕 WTF!!!!

Of course Boab been saying the same to others for ages and I'm still firmly focused on the bigger picture, they'll continue to get my vote until Independence is achieved. After that? Well we'll see!

But it's about time the SNP stopped trying to play nice, the unionist parties don't and will use every dark art at their disposal. It's time they grew both a pair of baws and a set of big sharp pointy teeth......Independence wont be won with nice platitudes and sweet cuddly party political broadcasts!

Valuable thread this !! Only my opinions here but believe me its heartfelt. The global big hitters are all using social media to create climates of opinion which enable them to interfere with and undermine belief systems ,political systems and cultures. In our democracy alone look hard at who is trying to influence our country's general election by attempting to discredit Corbyn for instance . The anti semitism campaign ( so obvious when you think about who despises his sympathy for the plight of Palestine) the terrorist sympathiser ( Sinn Fein / Palestine ) campaign and the barely concealed Trump" I could not trust or enter into trade agreements with a socialist government campaign ( That tango'ed cnut has not even enough respect to disguise his manipulation).
The dilemna ?
Middle England will never vote Labour so whats the best tactical vote to save our country from Tweedledum and Tweedledee aka Boris " I'm not comfy with your hand up my Jaxie Don" and the Tango'ed one ? Rant over. Nice to be back

No I know it's not a personal attack TGS but I refuse to resign myself to that mindset mate, whether it's wishful thinking or not I think Brexit may be the calamity that breaks this pretend Union!

Yep and spot on but i now think thanks to social media and the youth they are able to get their rebellion across and are now been clued up to propaganda, when the young see a backdrop showing Russia with Corybnn wearing a Russian hat to be our cold snap, we can quickly establish what that image is trying to potray and if we don't it is a cert when we go on social media someone will put us wide to the proganda been shown and the negativity, sevco would have got away with their gains had it not been for social media, look at how the MSM buried and distorted it.

Excellent Boab, wonder how many people are homeless and dependant on foodbanks,in Scandinavia, europe, compared to those in 5th largest economy in the world!how many working people, are dependant on foodbanks! and, as an aside, this election,is an election in name only, in reality it's a referendum/vote for engerlish nationalism, the battle lines are already being drawn, tories and brexshitters targetting labour leave constituencies all over engerlund, remember Bhoys and Ghirls,no matter who we vote for,we get the government that engerlund vote for!
