I don’t know when we actually morphed into this post truth society that we inhabit
I guess it happened by osmosis .
It is Incredible to think that Orwell foresaw this as early as the late 40s although I guess he used the Hitler Goebbels model of controlling the masses with myths and downright lies as a means of societal control
Whilst what we have today and there ,are many examples ,is a little softer than the 30s it’s not much softer if at all

Suppose when you can forsee a nation of sheep, pigs and workhorses who are sent to be slaughtered once they have no more purpose but to graze and take from the land in the eyes of the masters, it was not really hard to put this into society as a whole, whereby the ministry of paece really is the misitry of war, education dummed down, wealth before health, not really painting a rosy picture but once recognised you learn to rise above it and self education becomes the priority.
