Everyone at Celtic Football Club is deeply saddened to hear that John Sludden has passed away at the age of 56. Our thoughts and prayers are with John’s family and friends at this very sad time. #YNWA

I had to google who he was, signed for us on the same day as Paul mcstay, only made one 1st team appearance, a Glasgow cup game against the hun in 1982

Paul John Dykes of the ACSOM podcast was asking for prayers last week for John Sludden - was also reminiscing about the 5-4 schoolboys Scotland England match where Paul McStay won MOM (can't remember the year) - PJDykes reckoned John Sludden ran the show that day. He is, apparently, a bit of a legend still down Ayr way where he played for Ayr United.

RIP.
