Latest from Matt Corr in his series looking at Celtic at Birth, 50 and 100 years old. This time it's September 1988 - a rotten month watching the Hoops, painful even, but there's plenty to enjoy here. In an age of click bait crap this helps stand The Celtic Star out from the crowd.

Really interesting read. You can kinda tell that things are going downhill when we replaced Andrews with Alan Rough and that was seen as progress!!!
Fecking Kelly's n Whiten Farrell bleeding us dry like the parasite's they are.
Hope the buggers are suffering from the arsehole!😎

The Centenary side always had the feel of a team put together by Billy for that particular season. Older players were recruited and their best days were behind them. It gave us a brilliant season but there was none of the promise and potential that was apparent in Cesar's first spell as manager, when we were genuinely exciting to watch. Celtic could and should have done something in European football in those years when Aberdeen won the Cup winners cup and Dundee Utd got to the UEFA Cup Final.

I was at those games at the start of the next season and it was horrible. The 5-1 at Ibrox, OMG.
