New European format. Should Celtic increase Capacity?

I've said it before but much of the redevelopment could be financed by selling the naming rights to the stadium. I don't care what it is officially called (within reason) as I still call it Parkheid even though it is supposed to be Celtic Park. We could use our Japanese connections to get a major corporation like Sony or Nintendo to sponsor it....

What if Hundie came into the equation. Fuckin perfect🤣🤣🤣

They could build it like the main stand at Anfield ,where they built the new stand upper tier over the existing stand and then demolished the old one and built the new lower tier , I think Liverpool are doing the same at the Enfield road end.
The problem they have is the brick facade on the main stand is protected/listed. Not sure what classification of listed it falls under but I think that it was at a four years ago with my Canadian voiding the guide said it would have to stay as is. I’m sure someone on here has wherewithal and knowledge of where to find this out for definite.

If i was interested in a season book would I joking the waiting list at 12,001. Prob not so there’s likely more that would but aren’t on list,
It wouldn’t be capacity all the time but wouldn’t be far away. Lots of people buy season tickets and go to half the games but give to others.
Long term view, if you had 75k capacity and it was full of season book holders paying every year then you’ve capacity advantage over huns of 25k more paying per annum at say £600 = 15 million more turnover and that’s before cup/European games/food etc.

That’s a massive leg up on them
They couldn’t increase ibrokes, sir EBT looked into it and cost too much hence the casino shite

If you ask me id rather invest 40 million now on giving us that advantage over them in perpetuity
Europes the icing but beating them knuckle-dragging cunts is our bread and butter

That would be a whole new level of commonsense from the board to do that Marky but who could've predicted the level of backing and faith in Ange from them?
Not I, that's for certain.
So we never know.

Would be truly awesome to see CP finally properly completed and it will have to happen in some shape or form because as BB said earlier, the main stand is looking really run down and probably needs new up to date material repairs, it takes away from the great stadium we have.

Whether or not we get what we all hope for is probably dependent upon our performances and results in Europe.

If Celtic under Ange were to establish ourselves as regular candidates for the last 16 or, last 8 Europa League or, even deep into the Conference then it could be possible.

Pundits talk down the Conference but tell that to Roma and their supporters .
Roma had previously only ever won the inter cities fairs cup 1960/61 and that isnt even considered a major honour because EUFA didnt organise it.
They wouldnt change it for the world.
It might act as a stepping stone for them as it is success in Europe and automatic entry to the Europa League this season.

They were 6th last season serie A 23pts adrift and 6th place again now.
European trophy is a European trophy and none are easy to win , they were mauled by bodo/glimt in the groups before beating them back later.

I have no idea about that either STG but a quick google search turned up this cut n paste .

The Main (South) Stand is now the oldest part of the stadium, having first been built in 1929, although a new roof was installed in 1971 and the facade was rebuilt in 1988.

If they were able to do that in 71 and 88 and the club owns it , I'd be surprised as to why they couldnt improve on their own property.

Though with building laws etc you never know the minute the nonsense red tape they have.
What immediately springs to mind is the club having to pay for the " fresh air " above Janefield street the cemetery behind it because the new north stand overhangs the cemetery and apparently if someone/business/council owns land they also own the fresh air to a certain height in the sky.
That was craziness of a different level at the time but they managed a work-around eventually paying something like £1 million ( guessing the figure cant remember) but a lot of £s for fresh air.

I don’t think the brick façade is listed, it was only put up the the late 80’s and has no historical connotations, or unique design features to justify listed status 🤷‍♂️

The current Celtic park is nearly 30 years old and starting to show its age..... I reckon in 10 years time the whole thing will be knocked down and built again...so what's the point in rebuilding one side?

I think if they were going to increase the capacity, they will also have to severely improve the inside of the stadium. Go to a big stadium in North America and by comparison our stadium is amateurish, not just our but all the stadiums I've been to in the uk.
The Americans & Canadians have it sorted

That's true the concourse under the stand, the toilets etc are very cheapo looking.
Saw the blog of the Shakhtar game in Warsaw and that looked a decent stadium as well.
I suppose the emphasis was getting a stadium built at the time thosd things can be updated though.
Was reading the San Siro is to be pulled down in 2026 to be replaced by a €1 billion new stadium.
Nothing like the £50 million new hampden.
