The greatest team in world history. How many times have Scotland beaten the All Blacks , Zero.
In the best-selling Legacy, author James Kerr goes deep into the heart of the world's most successful sporting team, the legendary All Blacks of New Zealand, to reveal 15 powerful and practical lessons for leadership. Legacy is a unique, inspiring handbook for leaders in all fields and asks: What are the secrets of sustained success? How do you turn vision into action? How do you achieve world-class standards, day after day, week after week, year after year? How do you handle pressure? How do you train to win at the highest level? How do you turn purpose into practice? What do you leave behind you after you're gone? What Will Be Your Legacy? 'Beautifully written, wonderfully observed, true to the bone. This book is both intelligent and insightful: the perfect 'how-to' manual for effective leadership. Read it.' - Anton Oliver, former All Blacks captain.

I guess you’ve got to be good at SOMETHING pick one sport, just one mind you, feck the rest, and pile all the money and resources into that, egg chasing….a sport for posh people with odd shaped balls…..a sport with only about 30 countries play professionally, 🤣🤣🤣
Scotland are world elephant polo champions, don’t you know, but we don’t carp on about it🤣🤣🤣

I admire the All Blacks. I admire the fact that a small nation can continue to perform at a consistently high level and hold their ground against bigger countries with greater resources and I admire the fact that they have at least attempted to integrate the Maori culture into colonial New Zealand ways.

But let's have it straight here, in spite of all protestations to the contrary, rugby is still a niche sport which mainly appeals to a certain type of spectator and participant.

The problem with the actual game itself, is that it's too far up it's own arse and doesn't even try to hide it. When the game is played at pace and creative players are chucking the ball about and running - then it's quite entertaining to watch. Unfortunately - teams aren't rewarded for that and it becomes a relentless grind of big strong packs trying to niggle out penalties and kick points. Even when fantastic tries are scored by stretching the game, tossing it wide and touching down off of the wing, the team who score the outstanding try are punished by having to convert from wide????

It punishes creative play and flair.........

Yes, New Zealand deserve credit for being a rugby powerhouse, but as for a legacy?

If their championing of the sport brought it to other big European countries and if it was embraced by North America outside of the elite establishments, other parts of South America, Asia and Africa - then yes, the All Blacks could lay claim to creating a sporting legacy which expands beyond their own success.

As it stands, they're still only really big fish in a pretty small pool and to be honest - I think that's the way the rugby powerhouses like it.

Sport is an important feature in the cultural fabric of any nation, but surely the engineering, economic, industrial, scientific and inventive history of a small nation like Scotland, far outweighs the achievements of New Zealand in creating a sporting dynasty?

Unlike most on here I love rugby as well. Yes, the All Blacks are impressive but it like a religion over there so they have a large number of players despite the small population. They also poach the best of the islanders - imagine how much better Fiji, Samoa and Tonga could have been if their best players hadn't played for NZ over the years? Having said that the All Blacks are good to watch.

Every point came from the 16 tries. 16 tries in 80 minutes. General chat- Surely football does not have a monopoly on sporting excellence principles. The book I mentioned is a must read for any coach in any sport who wants to learn about the pursuit of team excellence. I learned in the book that the All Blacks always tidy up the dressing room. It's a cultural expectation. You can lead a horse to water.....

Great game when football is good to watch the greats like Brazil get an emotional buzz for me they try to play the Beautiful game style flair Class love it.
That’s what the All Blacks are like they play fast hard Rucking Rugby with Forwards who can handle the ball better than some backs can and they don’t go down with the slightest puff o breath from an opponent
Love watching New Zealand play rugby

Good summation of Rugby SP, however I disagree with you on the conversion kick, if a player was allowed to kick from 20 straight in front of the posts most of the time the kick would be converted, you would be just as well doing away with it a converted kick from the touchline area is an art in itself and an integral part of the game albiet a specialist one.

I am looking forward to the lions tour its a very enjoyable watch when it gets down to the test matches.
