Being reported in the news there’s been a premier league player arrested on child abuse charges, I know we’ll need to watch what we say in this thread as it’s an ongoing police mater, so don’t name him if you know, greater Manchester police are leading the investigation so there’s only 2 premier league clubs in greater Manchester

A PREMIER League footballer has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences.
Police raided his home this month. He was then suspended indefinitely by his club pending further investigation.
The player was arrested and interviewed by cops on Friday.
Sources said the probe was being led by Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team.
One revealed: “Several items were seized by cops. He was questioned in relation to very serious offences.”
A spokesman for the club said: “We can confirm we have suspended a first-team player pending a police investigation.
“The club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement.”
The revelation sends shockwaves through the Premier League ahead of the new season.
Cops said he has been bailed pending further investigation.

That is terrible news and I hope it turns out to be wrong - purely because I don't want any child to have suffered any abuse. I was going to put him in my fantasy football team again as well. As BB said, best not to name him in here but a 30 second search will give you suspect's name.

I'm thinking the heading of this thread should be changed as he is innocent until proven guilty. Although even if he is innocent, opposition fans will chant this at him forever more. If he is guilty then I hope he gets what he deserves...

Go to the Irish Times Sports Section Shammy. They are naming the club but not the player. It's not one of the Manchester clubs. It is in the Northwest though.
