Roy Keane could have been the Celtic Manager

Bhoy did Celtic get lucky when the idea that Roy Keane might work as a Celtic manager faded and went away.

Apparently we never offered him enough money! He was nor prepared to take a pay cut from his effective part time role as assistant with Ireland, was the jest of things. Presumably on this occasion we must thank heavens for Lawell's financial planing.

Keane was ok at Sunderland for a while, but he was overseen and managed by the Gentleman Giant Niall Quinn, who would surely have been a very strong counter measure.
Great Players seldom make Great Managers, but Keane was and is not just a second rate manager he is a social hand grenade, the sort of manager that no one in their right mind would want to work for. Life is too short to put up with abuse from supposed 'hard men', anyone worth their weight would either want to knock him out, or walk away and leave him to rant alone.

Any of you think we missed out, go ask most Ireland fans.
To be fair Keane is not the only problem at Ireland, Martin O'Neil is either too comfortable at best in his life to be putting the efforts required in, either that or he got lucky with Celtic perhaps especially lucky he arrived when Henrik was readying to become King.

I want this duo gone before they destroy Ireland, but especially Keane.

Should have known Keane would be a miss, not because of the likelihood that he would rely on 20th century 'hard-man' ideas on how to teach and manage, but the even more glaring obvious red flag that Charlie Nicholarse was urging to make him Celtic Manager.
