We cannot just apportion blame to Celtic, Celtics uefa cup run to Seville put 2 automatic cl places on the board for Scotland.
Also had therangers beaten Kiev they would've got a full coefficient point that's worth 3 wins in the europa league, so what they gave us wasn't as much as some might think.
We won a cl game for the first time in years v feyenoord and drew with atletico in the cl , those pts are far more valuable than anything the rangers did.
It's also about other nations clubs improving, not simply us declining.
Last cl campaign couldve easily been very different we were unlucky to only take 4pts but that's a hell of a lot more than others , look at Turkey and how their clubs are faring in Europe, most are already out, they will slide.
The most important thing to remember imho is we are playing the best Europe has to offer in the cl, we saw the difference is night and day last time that team ower there qualified they had their arses handed to them in a fashion no club ever has.
On hearts they have a chance to still go through, killie beating Copenhagen was always a huge ask , we'd have a real tussle with them, but the fact killie made the play off at all was success of sorts for them , first ko tie victory in more than 2 decades.
Right now if any clubs letting us down it's therangers , 1 away qualy round draw, St Mirren and hearts , killie have equalled and bettered them so this season at any rate they are letting Scotland down.

we shoulda been investing in better quality year on year to progress and maintain the coefficients,,but we sat back and let rangers do it for us,hived off their success
